Needs to be 30 cents. Mobil stations are high as hell.
I work in the oil industry in this area. The actual gasoline is a fungible commodity. Just because it is sold at a Shell station doesnt mean the molecules come from Shell, they could come from Valero, ExxonMobil, Chevron or any other refinery. It is all intermingled in many terminals.

There IS a difference in the additive (AKA detergent). Everyone has to meet minimum specs for detergents but there is another level called Top Tier. https://www.toptiergas.com/gasoline-brands/

All the big brands claim theirs is best. Costco is top tier and usually the best price so...
You don't get more of a discount at Sam's it's already discounted you are just allowed to use the pumps with out a Sam's club membership

How is this a deal? Mobile is among the most expensive gas out there. If you don't have a Costco membership, just fill up at Arco, it's the same thing.
That must be a local thing. Our Mobile stations are inline with all the surrounding stations.

I had to change my coils/spark plugs after trying out Murphy gas for the discount. I only do Shell now or sometimes Exxon

I have mixed feelings about the Walmart+ fuel discount at Exxon/Mobil Stations. I got connection issues with many stations when I tried to use the Walmart+ app at the pump. One Exxon station worked for me at first a few times. Then it stopped working afterward. I wondered whether it was just my bad luck or many others had the same experiences. I live in the Nashville area.

Where is the deal. At around $3.59 a gallon it comes to around 5% discount.

Lot of credit cards already offer 5% back at gas stations.

Yes, that is how it works. The initial gas may be the same but differing brands use different additives that affect performance and durability of a vehicle's ignition system. Murphy/Walmart/Sam's is some of the lowest tier and causes carbon buildup that can definitely ruin spark plugs and coils. Educate yourself, my friend.

I've been loving the 10 cent perk already and Exxon/Mobil is a TopTier rated fuel. It works pretty much everytime and automatically pops up in the Walmart App when I am at my local Exxon station. A great bonus (for me) is the Sam's express carwash/Exxon is already normally the cheapest gas option around!

Walmart+ never works for me at their gas stations or Exxon. Always get payment method error. Tried 10 different debit/ credit cards and I keep getting the error message. Luckily at Murphy's the code works. This is why I'm glad I'm still on the trial. Not paying for this crappy service

You use the app in order to get the discounted price, THEN you use those discounted cards to get the 5% back you're referring to. You don't actually pay for the gas with the app. Once the app is scanned, you choose which physical card you want to use for payment. It's like getting 2 separate bonuses

I'm in Nashville too, but have only used the W+ at the Murphy stations and it has worked fine. I always forget about the Exxon/Mobil deal, so I haven't tried it. But the W+ app is a little wonky sometimes, even in store, or especially the curbside pickup. They're still learning. Smilie

I would have to pay 80 cents more per gallon if I go to Mobil vs Sams. 30 cents would still make me question my choices. If I could double up with the Mobil rewards system, then maybe here and there. But I don't think I can with Walmart+.

Yesterday it was showing 20 cents off at Murphy. Looks like they updated it.

Payactiv debit card give you 10 cents off without a walmart plus account. You must put at least $45 for the pay at the pump.

It is possible to double dip using payactiv as payment and Walmart+ QR scan?

Asking for a friend.

No. No. No. One, a few, or several tanks is never going to foul plugs unless it's severely contaminated.

Quit justifying stupidity. And he said coils 🤣

Also, you're completely full of shit. Then how did I put 30k (no E85) on one of the beaters with only Murphys gas? It even has colder plugs! To top it off, it's a guzzler, so that's 1,765 gallons.

This fool had cheapo plugs, maybe even copper, and they fouled all on their own. Or he was driving around with misfires for a while, since he said coils. Trying cheap gas did not do it. Grow some more neurons. Peddle this nonsense elsewhere. It's not just my cars. I've seen plenty of cars with 100k+ on oem plugs using cheap gas and guess what? They're still running fine with little deposits. They're gapped to hell, but not fouled in the slightest.

Real world experience beats MSM lazy propaganda pieces.

There's also a reason manuf use pretty high temp plugs...
