In this context the seams would be plastic welded through heat or sonic welding. Will probably hold in condensation/ice if the seams work as intended.

Used in medical applications for over 10 years, Microban is registered with the EPA. NSF has also approved it for use in food and splash zone areas and food processing equipment.

Many ice machine companies incorporate Microban in their machines and bins to reduce bacteria in the moist environments. Many cutlery companies use it in their plastic handles so that do not become a haven for contamination. Even equipment companies such as Globe Slicers, Hobart, Vulcan, and others use Microban in the plastic portions of their equipment. Other products using Microban include Metro, Cambro, Carlisle, and Rubbermaid.

I know that feeling. How many coolers do you own?
Sitting on 7 coolers ( not including the coolers for lunch )
I got problems. Please tell me you have more so I feel better about myself!

Trust me, many of us have many more than that, mostly thanks to this site. There is something about coolers that makes you want to keep getting another one that fits a different need. There must be something primal with wanting to stay alive that keeps driving us towards more and better coolers. We must keep our food and beer cold at all costs!

Anyone have a guess on internal volume (for those of us who don't measure things in "cans")? 10 quarts? More? Less?
It holds roughly 2 six packs of cans.

Welded means metal that's been fused together through intense heat.
Right on to that. I was expecting to see very cool looking steel cooler.

I have been using one of this pretty much every day for working in landscaping. Although the seem has broken on one side, probably from my frustration while working in the heat and not being able to properly reach the angle needed to open it, I do fit a gallon jug, 4 cans and a water bottle inside with plenty of room for large chunks of ice.

I've had nonissues with the zipper itself, and I constantly yank very hard on it to either open or close the lid. With that being said, it is not water proof. The handles and strap have help up as well, again, with constant pulling and yanking, I don't see any of the stitches even starting to become loose.

It does keep the ice for most of the day in the 100+ Texas heat when its sitting in direct sunlight, but if I keep it in the truck instead it lasts a lot longer. Once the ice is gone the water stays frigid so no issues there. I'd say this is a good price for the product, considering buying this for $20 to replace my old one simply for the broken seam.

Mine arrived today and I'm really pleased with it. Fit and finish are great. It's a little smaller than anticipated but still a useful size. The zipper looks quality (it is YKK), and the handle and strap are stout. My only complaint is that the shoulder strap is not removable without permanently altering the cooler.

It's a definite steal for $20. Thanks OP!

I have this cooler to take to the racetrack. It sits out in the sun on hot pavement with water and sports drinks in it and it's been great. It's keeps cold all day which is all I need. I love the mesh pouch for sunscreen and other small items that I don't want in my pockets. I would buy again at full price.

Will it hold 12 cans that are 16oz and still have room for ice block?

Companies (like Yeti) sell zipper lubricant. I'd guess that would reduce the risk of breaking these waterproof zippers.
An older Ozark cooler of mine came with said lubricant as well. It helps, but the zipper tab will still break eventually. TmI replaced briken tab with something betterm

Ozark's zipper has a lot more resistance than a Yeti. That's the problem.
Still a great product though.

I have more than 20 "good ones". Yeti, Rtic, grizzly, a "good" igloo, one of those old Coleman belted ones with a bottle opener, Yukon, and some other good ones.
: )

I justify these purchases by lending them to family.

Now I have an excuse to buy another one. HALP!

Consider myself a bit of a cooler expert (lake house on Cumberland and have spent two weeks of my life there every year for 35 hrs now).

This has been my favorite cooler I have bought, especially for the money, in the last few years. I think the fact it was $40 made me like it even more. Buying two more. Thanks for heads up!

Nice! Seems like a nice "day out" cooler. I am slowly refreshing my cooler stash to things with more insulation. This will replace a very floppy soft sided cooler we rarely use because it's terrible. (basically an insulated soft sided pizza delivery bag)

Nice to hear some real world praise for this. Thank you.
