Why does newegg keep discounting these?


Feels like AMD slashed MSRP across the Ryzen line, but Newegg just hasn't officially adjusted the price for this one yet.

Just bought this CPU and went with the Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX. I got the mATX size version despite building in an H9 Flow, a larger case. I've been happy with it so far just keep in mind this motherboard has a weird wifi antenna that has cords that plug into the motherboard at the back. This means you got to either set the antenna on the case or magnetically stick it to something like a desk leg which is what I did.

Because not many buying $400+ 8 core CPU and $200 motherboard just to game.

I went with 12700K+Z690 Bundle for $320 half the price.

Asus x670 prime wifi works perfect had it almost 2 months with 2x32gb set at 6000

Gigabyte have coil whine issues this gen and Asus have bad thermals and melting cpus. MSI and Asrock are the recommendations for this gen (am5).

This is a fair point. The 12600k/12700K are definitely the sweet spot now.

But I am getting the X3D for simulation gaming and certain Python stuff.

Even though this CPU doesn't overclock well, I'm surprised how little options their are for X670/e mATX and ITX motherboards. I bought the CPU for $380 from Best buy during my states tax free weekend (pricematched to Microcenter thru online chat). Ended up going with an ASRock B650m Pro RS from Newegg for $150

This cpu doesn't oc at all. You can only turn on pbo. You can't overclock 3d cached parts
