No, but the 4070 TI is very overpriced. The 7900 XT is the one to get in that price bracket.

I think the 6800 is like 25% faster than the 2080 super. It's not a huge increase, but i don't think that it is incremental.
What about compared to a 1080ti?

Have a 2080 super, wonder if I should get this to tie me over until the 5 series comes out? Would probably only play Starfield and or Diablo in that time.
This card is really solid. But if you have a good psu you can grab a 6950xt for under 600$ and forget about 5 series.
6950xt should hold you over for quite a while without needing the 5 series

I wouldn't do a 2080s to 6800 tho..2080s is a solid card. Minimum I would go is a 6800xt.

1080ti is a beast for the time and aged really well..but this card is quite faster as you can see.

if the price is right for you, this is a solid card for the price..but a 1080ti can still run pretty much everything anyway

I have a 1080ti (with a 1700x) and play at 1440p and it has pretty much ran anything I want this resolution with at least 60+ FPS. But I recently bought Remnant II and it's absolutely unplayable for me. I want to play it so bad but on all LOW settings I can only get 35- 40 FPS max (at 1440p). For the first time since 2017 when I first built my PC, I had to turn the resolution down to 1080p in game settings just to get like ~50 FPS, which still feels leggy and terrible.

Really tempted to upgrade just for this game alone but I'd probably have to buy a new PSU since the pins are different I imagine. So I'm contemplating just building from scratch again and just going all the way and getting a 7900xtx or something

Good call isn't the 6950xt comparable to the 4090 though?

no, the 4090 is much faster..that's 7900xtx territory.
the 6950xt is closer to the 4070ti..somewhere in that 4070ti ish range..
but again look at the prices

try using dsr (upscaling). Turn the resolution down but upscale it to 1440p

I got an RX590 as primary running an Asus VG247 free sync Full HD (1920x1080) @ 144hz via DP.
I got an RX570 as secondary running two Samsung CF390 24" curved monitors via HDMI.

Was thinking us removing the 570, replacing it with the 590 and then getting this 6800 as a new primary but I might not be getting all the benefits from the card if the LCD can only support up to 1920x1080. I assume I would see more benefits on a higher res LCD?

This card is ok for 1080p. There is no benefits aside from clarity, maybe a 1440p monitor.
unless you want amd freesync there is no "benefits" if you're used to your monitor already.
if this was a 7900xtx then you would want a 4k monitor, as that card is overkill for 1080p

the pins aren't different. I have a 1080ti msi gaming x in another pc and it's 2x8 pins, the same as this card. This is also 2x8. And the wattage is similar, almost the same

Remnant II is not the best optimized game unfortunately. You 100% NEED to use DLSS/FSR in the game to make it playable unless you have a monster card. I'm not really sure if a 1080ti can even run DLSS and if it does, if it would be any better since the card pre-dates the technology.

But I have a 5700xt and play at 1440p and FSR literally doubles my FPS with only noticeable changes in quality in specific places (like Labyrinth).

Any deals on 6700 XT's?
I would wait and see what AMD announces at Gamescom August 25th. They are rumored to reveal their mid-range RX 7000 series lineup the 7700 XT and 7800 XT.

The 7700 XT is supposed to go on sale in early September for $449.

That should hopefully drop the prices of the last gen cards even more.

I didn't have the patience to wait so I negotiated w/ a seller on eBay yesterday by giving my best offer and was able to snag a used 6700 XT for $250 which is the cost of shipping included, but not taxes.
