Got 1 of these for my new Plex Media server, painfully slow to write 3TB (yes no Dram) took 11-12 hours. Small writes are fine now. Hoping for the durability of SSD's and will never come close to the 900TBW. Optimistic it will work out fine.

That's what I've been waiting for prices of large SSD's to come down for -- replace 8TB HDD with 8TB of SSD. Plex Server is mainly reads though, except for the first time load plus additional stuff you put on, but I'd guess I'd never even have 8TB of writes (which would fill the drive) let alone 900TB written (I know, of course, there are some writes for metadata, etc. but those are small compared to the size of the media collection).

I wonder how two of these in some sort of Windows RAID 0 would work?

Shouldn't these be closer to $126 since you can get the 2TB for about $63?

No. That's not how this kind of technology works. You are doubling the capacity but taking up the same amount of physical space to do it. Its much more difficult to do and so it's more than just a doubling of the cost.

Looks like the $142 deal is dead. Shows $159.99 for me.
