(After further review of the pictures, I think they mean the bamboo top could support up to 1500lbs (compared to "rubberwood") but that frame would be a different story. If you get this, it might be a good idea to add a shelf that can be mounted underneath, and rest on the sides. That way the legs won't want to fold out over time.)
Edit: I looked at reviews, and it seems people found out the hard way that the frame design was an issue.
