Edit: Wohoo!! I managed to get best buy to price match it. It took 3-4 hours chatting with different representatives until one finally budged and gave me the price match of $512! Funny thing is I almost gave up before the last rep said they'd match it. Out of stock in my local town so I drove an hour away to a neighbor state to pick it up. My advice to anyone: keep asking new best buy chat reps. Don't get discouraged. Persistence is key. Good luck!

The Costco worker I spoke to face to face said the price will depend on the manager of the store. Some managers will honor the clearance price, some will have their own clearance price. You are looking for the right manager, just like at Best Buy you are looking for the girl who's birthday it is. This deal is very much available, you just have to be very slick. I can confirm it just takes the right agent. Got it price matched for $512 didn't try and get greedy and argue for the 100$ more.

I went through hell today arguing with a local warehouse ($999 there and found 5 unit available in store) and Best Buy. No cigar.

But I'm willing to spend an entire night and chat with 40 BB low level fools. Maybe I get one that f-ing hates the company enough to give it a go.

Oh. I did do a "screen save" of the El Passo showing the $512 price. It was there until about 2-3pm CST. They (Costco) took them all down (by evening). There are units still in local stores but none at the $512 price. Costco Online (which is where they tell you to call with ANY online purchase) has absolutely no idea what's going on as the order number (the one that most people got canceled on) is an "Instacart" order number. It's the funniest "bait and switchroo" I've seen in my career of "find a great deal" shopper! Superbly done. They pass you back and forth from Costco Online to Instagram until you feel nauseous and go the f. away!

Oh and another thing ... This model (as per the manager at the local Costco where 5 units were still for sale but for 999) is being "retired". So I guess, they were trying to get rid of them? With the time I spent trying to get this deal, I would have bought 5 C3's at full retail price! But it's fun to get something for nothing lol! Ah ... this was a brilliant bait and switch!

I've have tried several live chats with BB today and no luck whatsoever. The first Customer Care agent always does this: "To best assist you with the price match. I'll transfer you to an expert. I appreciate your patience and thank you for choosing Best Buy." I then wait 10-15 min and that agent finally tells me that sameday.costco.com is not Costco's official website, thus they will not price match it.

So hats off to you all that were able to get this deal!
