Edit: Wohoo!! I managed to get best buy to price match it. It took 3-4 hours chatting with different representatives until one finally budged and gave me the price match of $512! Funny thing is I almost gave up before the last rep said they'd match it. Out of stock in my local town so I drove an hour away to a neighbor state to pick it up. My advice to anyone: keep asking new best buy chat reps. Don't get discouraged. Persistence is key. Good luck!

You can't price match SD. Talk about desperation. I only tried once for BB to price match. I went in store at Costco and asked if he could check stock right away. He laughed and said they haven't had that TV in 6 months. Not sure if I believe him though.

Huge shoutout! And it was still more hard work. But it wouldn't have been possible without your help! Saw only one in stock at a BB 20 miles away and went straight to store. Had to use every tool in the box. Don't want to give too many details but it took all the information, specifics AND me backing it up with the Costco site (including location) etc. On my game and working the phone to keep the ball moving. Whew. And the guys there came through for us. Beautiful stuff and we just got home with it. What a ride and payoff. Thanks again!

Oh sorry. I thought I was. Well I guess I just meant exactly how everything went down so I'm not posting other people's information. But basically it was as I said. The receipt/order wasn't the only thing that worked. Needed a phone number to help confirm and look up the order and even though it was from BB, it wasn't enough. Was asked for a site or who were they price matching even though the receipt was right there. Had to have a backup with the Costco site. Showed that. Just kept talking. Did my best to be nice and say this is what they sold it for today, here's the cart checking out at the Costco site and eventually it was accepted. Does that help?

I had tie my door to safety latch in rear. The box was a little wide. Did not want to force door shut with a fragile TV like this. Drove 40 mph on highway for 20 minutes. Made it home in one piece. Still in the box hidden in garage. I have not let the wife know.

Absolutely. I understand. It's been a long day. For us too. I've been at it for some time with agents getting nowhere. We're all probably pretty drained. I knew there was still one (this elusive one) that was just sitting nearby all day and I thought why not just take a swing.
