The 5800X is one hot boi. Even with a premium air cooler like a Dark Rock Pro 4 it will reach 85C or higher if extreme stress tested in heavy AVX loads. Suggest tinkering with PPT a bit. I set mine to stay under 120W max and temps don't exceed 80C now.
Will I have any issues upgrading a 2700x on a x470 board to this cpu? Might need a new cooler ? I have the AMD wraith cooler that came with 2700x.
Was it the stock Wraith, or the Wraith Spire? Not sure which x470 board you got, but if you think the VRM is fine, you'll just need to make sure you do the BIOS update to support 5000 series CPU's, and probably upgrade the cooler as well. If it was a 5700x, you could probably get away with what you have.

Make sure you update your motherboard firmware before you swap CPUs but it should be fine. As for the cooler, you can try to use it and see how your temperatures are but plan on buying a replacement if it doesn't work out.

If your psu is over 10y old might be worth an upgrade too IF it was very low watts (under 550w) or low quality to begin with
Not sure how this was related to what he asked considering you didn't even answer lol. Also you have no idea what the rest of his system is like. A decent 550w could be more than capable of performing. Higher power is a waste of money if there's no need for it. Low quality could be a concern but if it's been running fine for this long, doubtful it's a problem.

40+ upvotes? and the 5700x is currently $10 cheaper.
