Fabrics can be as low as 2 spf. Specialized chemicals and minerals are better at sun absorption than a thin woven layer of cotton.

Try looking through the inside of a t shirt at a lamp. You'll easily see the lamp.

The nice thing about fabric is it doesn't stop working over the course of the day.

Does anyone know why the S&S price ($6.55) doesn't show up in my Upcoming Deliveries page? It shows it as $6.89, and says that I'm saving 5%, but that's not reflected in the displayed price. I definitely have 5 S&S items for my next delivery. I have a couple other S&S items that are having the same issue.

How is a cotton shirt only 30 UPF when a thin layer of sunscreen is up to 50 or more?

I don't think that UV light can pass through a shirt, UVB can't even pass a transparent glass. Maybe they count Infrared (heat) portion too in their sun
