I just looked at the Harbor Freight gloves that I've used for 8 years [harborfreight.com] and just ran out of - for comparison the Harbor Freight gloves are 5 mil, and they work fine for garage work. They will tear fairly easily, so these in the deal are 4 mil, which is even thinner.

Get the harbor freight 5 mils for lightweight garage work (Changing your oil, cleaning up, etc). And then the HF 7 or 9 mils for heavier duty garage work (brake work, replacing components, etc).

These 4 Mils are fine for applying chemicals around the house, applying medications/creams etc.

Ended up going for them. If I develop any health issues that I suspect are related to this in the next 50 years I'll be sure to log back in and post a warning.

I regularly tear through 8 mil gloves when working on my car. Don't recommend anything thinner for garage/heavier work use.

They keep the chain lube off your hands as you replace a rear tire and adjust things but are not thick enough to be durable if you're working on a car -- even if just changing out wheels for the winter.

FYI harbor freight lies about their glove thickness so if these are actually 4 mil they're likely thicker than the harbor freight 5 mil.
