This model does not have the IPS display but the TN one. The M1502QA series has 2 display options, both are 45% NTSC 250-nits but one is IPS and another one is TN. For this one, there is no mention of IPS anywhere in the spec section and the Screen details is the exact copy from the Asus Website for the TN option. That's the reason any seller, including Newegg, does not mention IPS fdor this M1502QA-NB54 model.
Very bad screen .. 250 nits.. unusable outside room.. also camera and battery life is poor .. 5600h needs lot of juice.. and does not support usb charging..

photo says 178' viewing angle - not possible with TN, 516GB is creative though

I think you're referring the Overview Tab. That is basically a copy pase from the Asus official product Page and it will always highlight the specifications and features of the highest end configurations of that series, not for any specific models.
For example the VivoBook Pro 16X has a maximum display option as 3200x1200 120Hz OLED panel but a lot of lower end specifications including 1600P IPS and multiple 1200P options, with 100% sRGB and 45% NTSC/60% sRGB. If you go to the Overview section of that Series, you'll see that it says 3200x1200 120Hz OLED, with no mention of any other configurations.

That's the same image from the Overview Tab. Asus normally mentions display types if it is IPS and OLED but for TN, they just say the resolution and color gamut and that is exactly the case here.
below is the official tech spec for this series. https://www.asus.com/laptops/for-.../techspec/
Check the specification for the model M1502QA and you will see that two display options, the 1st one being TN (But Asus does not mention it, just says 15.6-inch, FHD (1920 x 1080) 16:9 aspect ratio, 60Hz refresh rate, 250nits, 45% NTSC color gamut, Anti-glare display, Non-touch screen, (Screen-to-body ratio)82%, exactly the description of this one.
