The Slickdeals community team has been working hard to make Slickdeals the best it can be for over 20 years, and new updates roll out to the community almost every week.
As a part of that effort, we'll be merging the Classic version of Slickdeals with the latest version of Slickdeals over the next 12 months.
You can anticipate the following as part of that platform merger:
If you primarily use Classic, there's no need for you to take any action. Your current Slickdeals account will remain active and will change to the current, unified experience automatically.
Millions of Slickdeals members are already using the current version of the website, which has dark mode support, improved shopping intelligence, and easier ways to engage with the community.
Change can be hard. Bringing all Slickdealers together into a single experience will enable you to continue to enjoy the latest community features and enhancements.
Thank you for being a member of the Slickdeals community!

You can anticipate the following as part of that platform merger:
- Access to the Classic version of Slickdeals will reduce over time. This process starts on August 22, 2023.
- You can expect a variety of improvements to the latest version of Slickdeals, often referred to within the community as "Redesign," specifically intended to make it easier for Classic users to transition to Redesign.
- The team of engineers and product folks managing the merger will conduct continuous interviews to make sure a variety of community voices and points of view are included. You can sign up for a 1:1 with a team member here [calendly.com].
- If you primarily use Classic, you will migrate over to the newest version of Slickdeals throughout the next year.

I'd ask anyone who is truly opposed to this change to schedule a time to talk with someone from SD one on one. Maybe, if we get enough folks to talk to them directly, maybe, just maybe, we can get them to give us a ... hmm... a Classic Clone using redesign. (?)

In any case, these and other silly fluff (like useless pricing tags) can be easily killed by uBlock or similar. But please make couple of themes with better fonts. At least darker and maybe one with SemiBold.
(I don't like the "Mobile" view on mobile browswers because it wastes entirely too much space. And don't get me started on "apps that serve zero purpose other than to display a website for you".)
I suppose if, every time I log in, the new design makes me angry, I'll just stop visiting.
It was a good run, but I suspect not visiting SD will save me more money than all the "deals".
A good example is reddit, they ruined their design with a bloated view. But I must applaud them for keeping he old design with a link where users can access the old interface 24/7. Slickdeals make a setting in the accounts where users can swtich to the classic view whenever they want and by default keep the new design.
Slickdeals if you want to make people happy, make an option in the user settings to stay in classic view it will not hurt you ot the site programming. Remember listen to people what they want.
I don't understand the motivation behind these changes. I've been using the site for over 15 years, and I've honestly never felt compelled to investigate other deal communities until today.

- Usability/accessibility issues, specifically; the contrast between font and whitespace, inability to change font weight/color
- A request to show frontpage deals with the newest items first, and highlight ones added since last visit
- Unable to find some features, specifically; how to rep, how to multi-quote, save a post
We've made many revisions to the current version of the site over the last seven years and will be doing so over the next year as we make progress on the transition. This is great feedback and we encourage you to keep it coming.
If you feel strongly about a particular suggestion, please click on the link in the post and schedule time directly with someone on our product team. We'd be happy to take a look. Separately, please feel free to post/share screenshots here or over email.

I hope mine doesn't change until the last day of the 12 months. Hopefully by then, some of the concerns being voiced here will be resolved and the interest of your long time members will have been considered and added into the upgrade.
I see OP is answering some questions one on one. I would also suggest that the answers to these questions be added to the wiki of this thread, so that as others of us get what must be a very bad version of the site, we will have access at that time.
One thing I will want to know is if, under the new design, we will be able to subscribe to threads and if so, where will we find that? It has been one of the challenges I found with the redesign when it tries to load on my phone's browser (which is how I am getting around using the app, which I don't like either).
We appreciate your participation in our continued efforts to collect feedback from our community. We'll look into adding something akin to a FAQ to the wiki of this thread for common questions that arise here. With regards to the ability to subscribe to threads in the Redesign view, this can be done by clicking on the "Thread Tools" menu towards the top right of a deal post and then selecting the option to "Subscribe to this Thread". From there, you will be presented with the traditional option of how often you wish to be notified prior to confirming the addition of that subscription to your account.
Where is that in the redesign?

Oh, and for the record, while reps get you nothing around here really, the 'helpful' button does not provide a rep. I only know that because someone with the new format told me she clicked the 'helpful' button on an answer I provided. I checked but had no rep from her.
This site is an absolute eyesore to look at in it's current state.
We appreciate that you took time to give your feedback.
We do have a midnight skin for the site if you go into your profile page and then to edit options you will see we have a midnight skin available
https://slickdeals.net/forums/profile.php?do=
Once you click the option be sure to save it at the bottom of the page.

If you want to keep those deals but just remove the tag, that is not a feature we presently offer
