The Slickdeals community team has been working hard to make Slickdeals the best it can be for over 20 years, and new updates roll out to the community almost every week.
As a part of that effort, we'll be merging the Classic version of Slickdeals with the latest version of Slickdeals over the next 12 months.
You can anticipate the following as part of that platform merger:
If you primarily use Classic, there's no need for you to take any action. Your current Slickdeals account will remain active and will change to the current, unified experience automatically.
Millions of Slickdeals members are already using the current version of the website, which has dark mode support, improved shopping intelligence, and easier ways to engage with the community.
Change can be hard. Bringing all Slickdealers together into a single experience will enable you to continue to enjoy the latest community features and enhancements.
Thank you for being a member of the Slickdeals community!

You can anticipate the following as part of that platform merger:
- Access to the Classic version of Slickdeals will reduce over time. This process starts on August 22, 2023.
- You can expect a variety of improvements to the latest version of Slickdeals, often referred to within the community as "Redesign," specifically intended to make it easier for Classic users to transition to Redesign.
- The team of engineers and product folks managing the merger will conduct continuous interviews to make sure a variety of community voices and points of view are included. You can sign up for a 1:1 with a team member here [calendly.com].
- If you primarily use Classic, you will migrate over to the newest version of Slickdeals throughout the next year.

I'd ask anyone who is truly opposed to this change to schedule a time to talk with someone from SD one on one. Maybe, if we get enough folks to talk to them directly, maybe, just maybe, we can get them to give us a ... hmm... a Classic Clone using redesign. (?)

own nothingupgrade to the new look and you will be happy."From my limited understanding (I'm not a dev nor engineer) the platform for classic is so antiquated it's just more and more difficult to work on and we cannot bring many features that are on redesign onto classic, it's hard to fix things on classic etc. It's come to a time of just absolute necessity to migrate over and doing it in stages while we collect feedback on how we can make the move as smooth for all of you as possible.
I associate it with loving an old '65 hotrod... great cars, we love them but they cannot be modified to handle all of the newer safety features, many electronic upgrades and such.
We are really hoping for some specific things you all need to make life in redesign not only bearable but enjoyable
Not all of the suggestions will be able to be implemented but we do want this to work, so all suggestions will be seriously looked in to.
Thanks for taking time to join this discussion.
To the second, it sounds like SD is expecting us to help us redesign their redesign. I will likely pass. I've done a fair bit of work for free for the deals community over the years. This doesnt extend to fixing something that wasnt broken. If it sounds like I am angry, it's because I am. Years ago I was asked for my feedback on the improvements, and I gave it. When my (and many others) feedback was ignored, we were told not to worry, that we would still be able to access the SD we prefer. Now, without warning for some users and who-knows-how-much-warning for the rest of us we are being told that this will no longer be the case. But dont worry, *this time* we will listen to your feedback. Not interested. Already searching for a new home.
I used to be able to go to "first unread" or my quoted post straight from my notifications, not anymore
I agree, noone cares about new features. I don't care to "like" or dislike a post.
And who said new electric cars are better or safer? All the new stuff that's coming out is crappier and more computerized just so we can be tracked.
Safest car is the one you can start by connecting two wires IMO
If you want to keep those deals but just remove the tag, that is not a feature we presently offer

Please change it back.
If any members know other sites which can be used for finding deals, please advise - will move on if Slickdeals sticks with this new format.
Thanks.
Just wanted to add I miss Classic view. I have visual issues and the new interface is really hard on my eyes. 😞
I'm not liking the SD changes. It seems like a stripped down App version they made to run more easily on a plain older tablet and it does not translate well to desktop PC.
Seems like the classic version is the new upgraded version, and this version is what used to be 10 years ago imho.
So is not being condescending

Edited: Upon further investigation, the posters rep count does go up, just not immediately like it used to do in classic view. So now I know how to rep.
