Thank you both, then that's a deal breaker for me. I don't really want another computer much less a refurbished (dated) model. The one thing I would love to upgrade, Dell never puts on sale: Ultrasharp monitors. It surprises me that Dell excludes their own gift cards from AMEX Offers, as I would think they would take the business no matter how it comes. Obviously their profit margin must exceed the 20% off given through any particular payment processor. Makes these refurb threads not very slick unless you're in need RTFN.

I am 100% sure.. none of the amex offers will work .. this is completely different website .. not dell.com

Short answer is no. When you click the redeem button from AMEX offer, it will lead you to a web site. In this case, AMEX leads you to the web site which is Dell Technologies. And for refurbished Dell, it is a different company. Its name is Dell Financial for billing purpose.

I was able to get this config for $164.50: Dell Latitude 5490 Notebook, 14-in FHD (1920 x 1080), Webcam, 1x Intel Core i5 Quad (i5-8350U) 1.70 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, No Optical, Intel Integrated Graphics, Backlit Keyboard, Windows 10 Professional. Not bad for a basic purpose machine.

Yes and yes. HD are almost always upgradable. RAM on these as well. Only the 2in1s have soldered ram from what I gather.
