I could not bring myself to use Samsung's smart TV. I have one from last year and it kinda sucks. And I could not sideload apps like other Android TV or Chromecast. So factor that in if you're used to sideloading apps (for example, ad blocking apps).
I'm sure it's a great monitor that looks pretty nice on the outside too. For VESA mounting you'd have to buy third party adapters, most look to be 3D printed. I'm not sure I want to hang a $300 monitor on printed plastic. Maybe it would be ok if it's rarely moved.
I recently was looking to get the M8 to replace the Element 32 monitor (for work) that died in less than a year.
