It's all made by Warren Distribution. They make Kirkland, Super Tech, Amazon, and many other private label brands. It's good stuff.

Why would you ever need to do an emergency oil change?

newbie question, after purchase, are you guys changing oil by yourself? I just started to learn how to change bulbs/filter of car, wondering if oil changing is too challenging, or does some store offer such services?
With all the good recomandations above I just want to add one more thing get Fumoto Oil drain Valve. This helps your own oil change 120% easier. I have been using Fumoto for 10 years for 3 different cars and all works very well and no leak. Check it out if you are interested in doing own oil change.

I can confirm, these valves are worth the price for sure! Put one on the wife's Outback and have been doing toolless oil changes ever since. Once installed, the entire oil change happens in less than ten minutes, and I only need my hands. Never leaked from the valve, and I've never been concerned with that valve in any way. Highly recommended.

$3/qt, is that a good deal these days? I usually look for closer to around $1/qt. My 3yr free oil changes is going to come to and end soon on my car so it's been a while since I've purchased oil. I guess everything's more expensive these days.
You can find that at used oil place

Still sub $20 for 5qts which is about as cheap as I've seen without timing some clearance or rebate. This Costco at $16/5 qts obviously a better deal.

I have a vintage 80s Camaro and a 2000s Tahoe (original owner of both), husband is a machine mechanic and does all the oil changes himself on our families vehicles (six cars total).

No problem with Costco oil in my old vehicles, each are all original and have no engine problems. Hard to get husband out of the 3k miles mindset, so he does his small SUV at 5k and my Tahoe at 7k. Camaro is a summer-only car, so the oil gets changed every 2 years.

Our three son's are not like their dad that enjoys working on motors; one son will change the oil himself in his car and his girlfriends. If you haven't changed your oil before, see if you can borrow (or find a deal on a decent) floor-jack; then YouTube how to change oil on *your* model of vehicle. The first time my son did his girlfriends car, it took him over an hour because he wasn't familiar with her model, otherwise it takes my boys about 30-40 minutes, while it takes my husband about 15 minutes.

So give me an SD on a fumoto valve 'cuz $30+ bucks too much.

from what I've researched, there are only a few engine oil manufacturers so most generic brands you see from big box stores or online retailers such as Amazon, Costco, and Walmart are coming from the same manufacturer. Kirkland and Amazon have great engine oil. It's literally the same stuff as the brand name ones.
Good deduction Sherlock; this was mentioned on page 1 already.
