Solid price for sure, so take any complaints and compare them to the price and decide.

That said, the included lens (the IS II, not the STM) is a terrible lens.

Image quality is decent enough for a kit lens, no real complaints there, but it uses a very slow and unreliable direct drive focus motor. I missed more than 50% of shots with that lens involving any sort of movement. Im not talking sports either, if someone was fidgeting or slowly walking it couldnt keep up.

You will quickly outgrow it for sure, but an inexpensive way to test the waters of "beyond cellphone" photography. If you get this and find you would like continue down that expensive, but rewarding path I recommend pairing with the 50mm 1.8 canon usually has refurb for 80ish bucks.

They are offering a bundle deal with the refurbished EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III, making it only an extra $50. Seems great...?

Is it worth taking advantage of the "Buy a Refurbished EOS Rebel T7 & save $89 on the Refurbished EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III lens". i.e. Is that (refurbished) lens worth an extra $50?

If you do not have a zoom lens, maybe, it will help you with growing your camera handling skills. I don't have it but it is generally not a well regarded and is likely to be something you will want to upgrade. But $50? Should be an easy resell.

The EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 has been around forever and it's never been good; it's cheaply made, slow, and it's not very sharp. Additionally, neither the 75-300mm nor the T7 have image stabilization, so that combo is going to give you some blurry pictures when you zoom in. You can try to resell, but it seems to go for less than $100 on eBay.

Personally, I wouldn't even bother with it - if you can swing it, the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM can be found for about $150 used and offers image stabilization and better build and image quality - it's a far superior "starter" telephoto, IMO.

I just ordered this exact camera a week ago, still waiting for it. Don't have any photography experience but this lense is avoided like the plague by many on the Internet. Much thanks to Reddit

I'm just some guy on the internet, but were I looking at a T7, I would pay the $50 for the other kit lens.

Neither are going to be considered good lenses, but when starting out with DSLRs, I would value a variety of focal lengths over lens quality.

My thought exactly. Best webcam for the money. I use an old 40D and people always comment on how good the picture quality is.

Does the new software work with old camera? I have an old 50d and an old EOS m2 and would be curious to try out

I have a 40D and haven't used it in years (have some nice old L glass, too... Frown ). If I can use it as a Webcam instead of the constantly out of focus Logitech camera, I'd use that instead.

But, looking at Canon's website [canon.com], the 40D isn't listed as supported?
