CPU
1x Intel Core i5-8365U (4-Core, 1.60 GHz)
Memory
8 GB (1x 8GB)
HDD
256 GB (1x 256 GB SSD)
OS
64-bit Windows 10 Professional
Display
13.3" HD (1366 x 768)
Cosmetic Grade
B

It's effectively a Chromebook: no modern 3D gaming, no heavy production workloads for artists, no data analytics, etc.

For $180, if you just need a little box to browse the web and check your email, it's a win. I'd clean install Windows on it immediately because 8GB RAM doesn't leave you with a lot of room for error if there's Dell or other bloatware running in the background.

Better yet, if you won't need Microsoft Office suite, install Linux Mint or PopOS. You'll still get the web/email browser but with a lighter footprint. I'd only recommend this if you're remotely comfortable with Linux, though.

It's been my corporate work laptop for 2 years as an engineer. Not good for Excel work, but fine with an external monitor for other stuff.

Nah, this is way more than a Chromebook. These are previously leased business laptops so it's way more faster if you need to install other apps for productivity or development. Also, although these are not gaming laptops, they can still play decent games.

If you only want to use it just like a Chromebook or create a Linux box as suggested by the other guy, it's much better to get those with lower CPUs with no OS and they are under $100

Having said that, a much better deal is if you can get the one with FHD 1080p screen and 16GB Ram for the same price. I just looked and there is still 1 available.

Excellent business "ultraportable" with solid build quality. Used them for classrooms.

Amazon.com is always well stocked with renewed Latitute 7300 with i7, 16GB, 512GB and FHD Touch screen under $250. The ones I got were practically like-new.

The 14" 7400 @ 1080p for $179.50 [dellrefurbished.com] seems like a decent deal as well.

Do these come with the original, probably worn-down battery?

If so, probably not going to get much run time out of these.

8th Gen Processors though, just an okay deal, these are using 2018 hardware. These are nice laptops though.

The one we bought about a month ago (Touchscreen, i5, 16gb RAM) from them has 77% battery life left. Considering they were supposed to have a 10hr battery life new, I'll take 6 - 8hr battery life for a $220 machine. MSRP was ~$1500.

According to this FAQ, if your battery life is below 80% you can request a replacement battery from Dell.

I bought a Dell from here a while back and the BIOS test showed it at 100% health. Holds a good charge and have had no complaints.

My wife was in search for a cheap laptop, basically just to backup her phone. I hope this will do.

Ordered and shipped already, but kind of feel like maybe I should've gotten her the tablet/Surface style 7200 also on sale. Tempted to get one for myself as my Surface battery just went kaput and decided to start inflating, but I barely used that thing.
