I remember back in the day when Nike snuck into the SB community and started pushing Dunks on everyone. I knew a lot of other skaters who rode with them but holy shit what a godawful shoe they were in terms of long ride comfort and overall durability.

Gimme some simples, osiris, or even some dc's (well not anymore lol) any day. Looks like these are at least constructed better though. Gumsole, triple stitching.... layers where you'd want them (but I wouldn't bet my ankles on them for anything but fashion)

SB Classics were the only ones that were actually good for skating.

Shoe design wasn't too revolutionary in the 70s - Converse made their iconic shoe in the late 60s that was popularized in the NBA, the original Blazer came out in the early 70s with low and behold a very similar design.
