I have a Hisense U8G in the living room and the HDR experience is just incredible. I've been wanting to upgrade my computer monitor ever since to get a similar experience when I'm PC gaming, but pickings are slim. More or less, it seems like your options are to either spend a fortune on an OLED (and risk burn-in), or settle for something like this.
According to Display Ninja, this monitor offers 600 nits in HDR mode, but has so-so contrast (IPS panel) and only 16 dimming zones. Furthermore, Tom's Hardware states the local dimming is edge-based, rather than a true full-array option (like on my U8G). The Tom's review says HDR content looks really good. Display Ninja seems to think it's more on the meh side.
SDR brightness allegedly falls a little short (probably a non-issue for most), but the built-in speakers are surprisingly good (which I imagine won't matter to most people), and it has great color reproduction.
I think MSRP is way too high, but at this price...I think it could be worth it for some.

1. Amazon had these on sale for $599.99 brand new, not very long ago (Like May/June). I don't know if it will ever be offered at that price again on Amazon, but keep your eye out. The price _has_ been reduced recently, but it's still not at that all-time low.
2. It's a very nice monitor. Supposed to be true 10-bit (not all are), although there is conflicting information on that depending on your source. It comes with this control pad thing that seems like a nice addition. The design is more like a gamer's monitor, but still classy and it has a two-toned white and black color scheme with some orange accents. The display is not edge to edge, as there is about a half an inch or less of black border around the display. To be fair, the same can be said about the black border on the MSI MPG321UR-QD (see below).
3. I would say the MSI MPG321UR-QD is its competition. They have different feature sets and looks. I believe the MSI will go brighter than this BenQ. The MSI also has a built-in KVM.
BOTH should do like close to 99% Adobe RGB, and high 90's DCI-P3. You may need to get the color calibrated though, especially the MSI, which is said to be over-saturated out of the box. The MSI is a lot more expensive right now, at $799.99 (even though it has come down in price).
ALSO, keep in mind this BenQ has built-in speakers, while the MSI does NOT.
Both should be good if you need color accuracy, 120hz+ refresh rate, and a large 32" 4K display.
Me, I have a personal preferenc for the MSI. It seems to go brighter and I think I just marginally like the panel better. But at $200 less (or more if you go with refurb), the BenQ is the better value.
