On the last deal thread, I read that the darkness issue was not true. You'll have to Youtube but I think I found it. However, there's another video that proves the opposite, so not sure what to believe.

I definitely saw the side by side and it was darker. I'm guessing that might work better for part of the film and worse in other parts. There are scenes where you barely see the person. Which if that's the intent of the director.It's good, if not...It's bad.

But yeah a little better and a little worse is what I got from the reviewing.

I picked it up for the $4 deal. Don't expect a good transfer like other 90s movies (T2 , Jurassic Park, Braveheart and Gladiator all look outstanding ) .

It's not much better than Blu Ray or high bit rate streaming

I was also disappointed by the heist audio

If you already own a copy of the film take the $8 and go to a book store a buy Heat 2 - written by Michael Mann, highly recommended read that's both a prequel and sequel to the movie - and further explores the characters and how they became who they are "All I am is what I go after"
