Gauges go from 12 to 1. Lower the number the better.
At an old job, i directly sold hundreds of jumper cables.
i am guessing these are 12 or 10 gauge.----Very unreliable.
Jumper cables should be 8 or LOWER gauge... 6 is acceptable. 4 excellent.
Buy it? Sure but switch out the jumper cables for a lower gauge jumper cables when you can.

Used one a few times. They hold their charge and you don't need to get another person/car involved with cables.
If you're in a spot where you need to replace the battery completely, having a smaller set of tools is nice but I'd go for a kit with an inflater, and some reflectors.
This kit kind of looks like cheap crap imo.
Have fun waiting for hours on the side of the road if your in a winter state. Really cheap for what you get.

And I agree with you for 14 bucks get the kit, I am certain that these folks have bought a crappy lunch, a ohh that looks good but end up sucking. A shirt, a shoe, a haircut that you now dont wear etc... Hell a pack of AA batteries cost this much.
People "cheap out" on things that can be so vital (given the situation).
This is all from average consumer use, with the tools mostly just stored in the trunk, in a hot & humid climate.
I don't know if it's easy to find something better for a similar price. But instead of buying this kit, I'd strongly suggest spending an extra $10-$20, and getting more reliable tools. From personal experience, it sucks being stuck somewhere, and having their cheap screwdriver break on you. I'm all for frugality, but this kit just isn't worth it. If you still want to avoid spending money, you could assemble most of this kit with better Dollar Tree items, for a similar cost. The jumper cables are likely the main thing that you can't get there, and that are going to cost more, but that's something you really shouldn't cheap out on anyways.

good jumper cables (not these) or a jumper pack
road side markers / triangles / flares
flashlight
tow strap
tire patch kit or fix-a-flat cans
12v air pump
actual gloves
a basic tool kit is nice but only if you actually know how to fix some things on cars
a rain poncho
some candles and a lighter (if you live in a colder climate)
