Remember, Wyze won't allow you to store individual events without subscription. You can put memory card and have it but it's little pain to navigate the timeline and find what you want. I have 6 of these installed at home . I would prefer Eufy over this for convenience of view events. Eufy has better detection as well.

I purchased one of these from their website a few weeks ago, when they went on sale for $79. Installation was easy as a regular floodlight, then adding the camera (V3) in the app, which is easy, and it recognizes the floodlight as an accessory to that camera.

The camera is no different than their regular V3 if you are familiar with those. It has a nice wide field of view. The HD isn't clear enough to read a license plate, but plenty of detail for whatever else you need. Look at review pictures on Amazon if you want to see the clarity. I have this setup on a front corner of my house. The only problem I have is that headlights coming down the street at night trigger the motion sensing. I've got the street zoned out of the detection area, so I'm just talking about the headlight wash going across the yard.

For the floodlight itself, you can have it activate via the camera motion sensing, or it's own PIR (radar type) sensing. Due to headlights, I have mine set to PIR motion only, which works out to about 20ish feet. Deer, cats and an opossum have activated the flood PIR motion sensing. You can dim the lights 0-100%. I'd say mine have a 1-2 sec delay between sensing motion and turning on. PIR sensor detects motion 270°. I can't completely verify that because I have a downspout blocking a little of it.

I have four Wyze cams and a Reolink. I think they all have quirks you have to learn. Wyze are good cameras for slightly above newbie level and great bang for your buck. They aren't perfect and do have little annoyances. Btw, the Pro video quality is only slightly better. I wish they could produce some 5mp cameras for a good price.

I have this Floodlight and it's just OK. The sound recording is pretty BAD so don't expect to hear clearly of people talking. Every now and then there'd be this loud screech/squawk. I use this in the back so i dont really need the sound but I would reconsider if you are to use it for the front of the house and want to record audio. .

Does this work with their 12 sec Cam Lite sub (moton capture for 12 secs with 5 min wait in between for motion capture)?

Update - nevermind answered here:

Quote from BrettL5675 :
Sorta true but the word "subscription" can be interpreted.. This floodlight was released in 2021 and is eligible for cam plus lite. 12 second cloud recordings, etc. Cam plus lite is name your price and you can name $0 monthly. Additionally you can watch that 12 second clip then click view playback and watch the entirety of the event on a SD card.

Is it possible to install this on a surface mount rectangular junction box? Or, does the box have to be changed?

I'm still happy with this model in front of my garage. A new version came out but the reviews sounds like it's really buggy and still needs work. For $50 this is a really good deal.

I actually want the old one as it seems to come with a stock V3 cam that qualifies for Cam Plus Lite still.

Which Eufy version has the convenience of viewing events easier compared to the Wyze that you mentioned?

I have 8+ Wyze camera, but switch all over to Eufy. I still prefer Eufy due to much better video quality especially the Eufy outdoor camera pro with wider field of view. If you bought the Home Base 3, all your video recording are backup locally for redundant backup. Eufy also has 4K recording and were the first to offer 2k over Wyze. Wyze is always lagging behind in technology IMO

I still keep a few Wyze for pet and garage. It's very fast to access the live feed and can view multiple camera at once.

$50 + Military discount really temp me to get it since I need a floodlight.

Eufy has a new 24/7 outdoor 4K for $110 and an indoor 4K camera. I think I'm gonna hold off to get it on sale over this even though the price is really tempting.

What's the sensitivity of this camera? I have an outdoor v3 which are frequently trigged by flying bugs at night. It would be annoying to have a flooding flight on and off by bugs.

Bought one a few days ago and set it up. I am pretty tech savvy and tied this into a cut extension cord for the part of my yard too far from an outlet.

Is it bright? -Yes
Is the video quality good? Yes and the Starlight feature at night works good.

Problems:

-It does not send me notifications, tried all the settings.

-I can't see the events, only a timeline with no marker telling you were its at. Is this a paid for option only? I dont know because I dont want to subscribe to it. I installed a 128gb micro sd card and its recognized.

I bought this to supplement my Synology NAS POE cameras (which work great) for a dark part of my yard but reconsidering taking it back now.

Worth going reeferb for $10 less? https://electronics.woot.com/offe...nt_wp_0_11

Will be my first Wyze product as I move away from Kuna's garbage products!
