Remember, Wyze won't allow you to store individual events without subscription. You can put memory card and have it but it's little pain to navigate the timeline and find what you want. I have 6 of these installed at home . I would prefer Eufy over this for convenience of view events. Eufy has better detection as well.

I purchased one of these from their website a few weeks ago, when they went on sale for $79. Installation was easy as a regular floodlight, then adding the camera (V3) in the app, which is easy, and it recognizes the floodlight as an accessory to that camera.

The camera is no different than their regular V3 if you are familiar with those. It has a nice wide field of view. The HD isn't clear enough to read a license plate, but plenty of detail for whatever else you need. Look at review pictures on Amazon if you want to see the clarity. I have this setup on a front corner of my house. The only problem I have is that headlights coming down the street at night trigger the motion sensing. I've got the street zoned out of the detection area, so I'm just talking about the headlight wash going across the yard.

For the floodlight itself, you can have it activate via the camera motion sensing, or it's own PIR (radar type) sensing. Due to headlights, I have mine set to PIR motion only, which works out to about 20ish feet. Deer, cats and an opossum have activated the flood PIR motion sensing. You can dim the lights 0-100%. I'd say mine have a 1-2 sec delay between sensing motion and turning on. PIR sensor detects motion 270°. I can't completely verify that because I have a downspout blocking a little of it.

I have four Wyze cams and a Reolink. I think they all have quirks you have to learn. Wyze are good cameras for slightly above newbie level and great bang for your buck. They aren't perfect and do have little annoyances. Btw, the Pro video quality is only slightly better. I wish they could produce some 5mp cameras for a good price.

For anyone curious, this is MUCH brighter than the Ring floodlight, but the Ring has a much wider view and has better recordings in my opinion
Yes, they are brighter. Which makes me tempted to get one. But I think I'll stick to ring for now. You can add most onvif cameras to a ring pro alarm system, so I would rather get a good camera instead

I have close to 85 cams of all types, doorbell, etc and also based on experiences read on Wyze threads the issue is almost always people's router. One of the causes of random disconnects and not reconnecting happens when the router has reached it's limit of devices or simply can't handle it. Signal strength also comes into play.

Ive prob had to power cycle a camera less than 5 times in 5 years
Indeed seems to be the case. I never had any issue with 2 Wyze cameras in the 1 year of me owing and using it.

Is this better than Ring?
If you don't want to pay monthly fees. Yes.

Perfectly happy with my 3 Wyze cams. No issue using the sd card for playback. 32GB gives you 3 days of recordings. Want more? Buy a bigger card.

Is the subscription worth it ?
What is the clarity like at night ?
Do you get notifications on your phone with no subscription ?
Any discounts typically for subscriptions

I was just looking at 2 motion cameras in front of the garage and in the patio.
I have blink cameras elsewhere all around the house with no subscription but the night vision is poor

Just bought two at Home Depot, one to replace the garbage Feit one that I bought from Costco earlier this year. Thing is useless at night. Wyze color night vision is the best. I also have to replace another floodlight with a Wyze camera on my deck with just one of these which is much better.

If you are Home Depot looking for these they are either in the cage or behind the customer service desk. My store said it had 14, the lady could only find one so we had to track down the others and found them behind the customer service area. Still waiting for it to get dark to test the lights. Also you can enable a siren shortcut which would be useful. Now to see if Costco will take the Feit back.

Boo I bought one on the 20th at regular price and it won't let me price match. Haven't even received it yet.

I've been a wyze user since their early days. Ive had some ups and downs with them, but overall, for the price, I've been super happy. I also started power cycling my cameras once a week using the rules feature. Every Sunday morning at like 2am, they power cycle. Use high endurance MicroSD cards and make sure your signal strength is good and that should really limit potential issues.

Damn, going through this thread as I want to replace my Eufy floodlight (which went bad a couple month ago and stopped activating and connecting back to the cloud) but it looks like this one is problematic as well...

I have 5 Wyze cameras including the pan and tilt one and 4 are rock solid and one goes offline maybe once a month or so. They have been excellent in my opinion for the money. If it goes offline for any reason just unplug it and plug it back in and it's fine.

I have two of them- Pretty good. They have a tendency to drop off wifi if your signal isn't great and then they don't reconnect on their own, requiring a power cycle.
I like the tunable sensitivity, brightness, and length of light on time.

It's optional. Having the subscription gives added benefits but I use it without a subscription and it works just fine

Thinking of switching to Wyze after being disappointed with eufy and their updates that never come. Also these seem to a be a lot cheaper, like half the price of the equivalent eufy.

These will be a lot better than Eufy. I have several Eufy's set up and they just don't compare to Wyze. Wyze is on par with my Ring system. Ring floodlight is the best in my experience, but the Wyze are pretty darn good as well.
