Remember, Wyze won't allow you to store individual events without subscription. You can put memory card and have it but it's little pain to navigate the timeline and find what you want. I have 6 of these installed at home . I would prefer Eufy over this for convenience of view events. Eufy has better detection as well.

I purchased one of these from their website a few weeks ago, when they went on sale for $79. Installation was easy as a regular floodlight, then adding the camera (V3) in the app, which is easy, and it recognizes the floodlight as an accessory to that camera.

The camera is no different than their regular V3 if you are familiar with those. It has a nice wide field of view. The HD isn't clear enough to read a license plate, but plenty of detail for whatever else you need. Look at review pictures on Amazon if you want to see the clarity. I have this setup on a front corner of my house. The only problem I have is that headlights coming down the street at night trigger the motion sensing. I've got the street zoned out of the detection area, so I'm just talking about the headlight wash going across the yard.

For the floodlight itself, you can have it activate via the camera motion sensing, or it's own PIR (radar type) sensing. Due to headlights, I have mine set to PIR motion only, which works out to about 20ish feet. Deer, cats and an opossum have activated the flood PIR motion sensing. You can dim the lights 0-100%. I'd say mine have a 1-2 sec delay between sensing motion and turning on. PIR sensor detects motion 270°. I can't completely verify that because I have a downspout blocking a little of it.

I have four Wyze cams and a Reolink. I think they all have quirks you have to learn. Wyze are good cameras for slightly above newbie level and great bang for your buck. They aren't perfect and do have little annoyances. Btw, the Pro video quality is only slightly better. I wish they could produce some 5mp cameras for a good price.

These will be a lot better than Eufy. I have several Eufy's set up and they just don't compare to Wyze. Wyze is on par with my Ring system. Ring floodlight is the best in my experience, but the Wyze are pretty darn good as well.
Thanks for your opinion. I would go with Ring but I don't want to pay a monthly fee, so I feel like Wyze is probably the best option for me. I have no idea what Eufy is doing but they always seem to be stuck in neutral. Costco even used to carry them for a short while but now they don't (they do carry Wyze, though (among others), so that's my choice.

Sorta true but the word "subscription" can be interpreted.. This floodlight was released in 2021 and is eligible for cam plus lite. 12 second cloud recordings, etc. Cam plus lite is name your price and you can name $0 monthly. Additionally you can watch that 12 second clip then click view playback and watch the entirety of the event on a SD card.

I set my parents up with wyze a few years back and then we switched them to eufy, cant really remmeber the reason, but can i get a couple of main reasons why wyze would currently be a better way to go than eufy? Is it based on security or features? One thing i do miss from wyze is the ability to view all cameras live at once. I dont believe eufy allows that still.

My main reason to prefer Wyze over Eufy has been reliability and image quality. I have a very fast 1gb fiber optic internet connection, along with a very robust mesh router.

I am not able to view the Eufy camera live feed or images about 30% of the time when I'm out of the home, while I'm able to view the WyzeCams 100% of the time. Even at home on the same wifi, establishing a secure video channel takes ages, and by the time I try to view a camera, whatever event I'm trying to see has moved out of view. The video recording list is often spotty or missing footage, and only when I refresh the video footage page several times, will it actually show all the footage. Sometime even after that, it's impossible to bring up a footage to view, constantly getting errors in the app instead of showing the video.

The Eufy video stream is also super sluggish when viewing, and takes ages to download to my phone to view the video. Consequently I mostly stopped viewing the Eufy cameras and use Wyze most of the time. I do have several Eufy's that I still use in some areas but they are more of a backup vs the Wyze.

I applaud the concept of the Eufy, but in execution it's very sluggish to use and much more tedious than Wyze.

Haven't tried it with the spotlight cam but the best way with the V3 is to use the "mini-hacks" in self-hosted mode. Search and you'll find on GitHub.

How much better is the new one vs this one?
Personally, I prefer the original floodlight, versus the floodlight pro.. mostly thanks to the PIR (movement) sensor. I don't see the price difference in the PRO, justifying the upgrade...just my no-talent opinion.

Damn, going through this thread as I want to replace my Eufy floodlight (which went bad a couple month ago and stopped activating and connecting back to the cloud) but it looks like this one is problematic as well...
I have definitely had my ups and downs with this floodlight...however, since the last update that wyze issued for better wifi connectivity/stability..it has been fairly problem free. Rocking a solid modem is important as well.

I have used Ring, Ring Pro, Eufy, Wyze and Feit floodlight cameras. Ring is the fastest to view, Wyze is second, Eufy is slowest to view but picture quality is better than Feit.

Just installed my second one that I bought on my deck and they are both running like a champ. Make sure you enable the siren shortcut and also have it so the lights flash when you turn on the siren. I have a nosy ass neighbor that things he has the right to cut across my yard and ever since I installed cameras and floodlights he has never been able to and I know it's killing him. I have the deck cameras, the side garage door floodlight camera and a pan and tilt camera inbetween them pointed at his house.

The Feit is utter garbage and the motion zones impossible to use, I basically had to turn them off. Ripped out my Feit yesterday and replaced it with one of these, so much better.

I use Wyze video doorbell and seeing degraded performance where notifications to phone comes in after few minutes of the event. Also constantly it keeps on authenticating and will fail twice and will work on their time or so. Would never recommend Wyze product.
