Are these routers really worth it vs a TP-Link Deco or Linksys Atlas Pro or Velop Mesh Router?
Depends what you're looking for, how much coverage you need, etc. The GUI and configurability of the Unifi system is pretty slick. If If you are willing to wire in a few Access Points (from Unifi of course) the integration is pretty seamless, same with any Unifi network switches. Very simple to see how your whole network is doing, which devices have poor signal, etc. This device had some quirks at the beginning but has been pretty stable (for me) on the newer firmware.

Yea, the 1GB WAN Port is kind of out of date at this point. Also, why only the 700 Mbps? Shouldn't that be up to 1G?
The Cpu is pretty underpowered compared to even the original Dream Machine. With even basic firewall features turned on it can't hit the full 1gbps wan speeds.
Can this be set to tunnel all traffic to a UDM Pro at another location to share cameras and use a single IP address for Netflix? The UDM Pro site has fiber, and the Dream site would have T Mobile home internet- so the double nat thing might cause a snag? It would be nice if this unit could create traffic route rules, where normal internal traffic wouldn't need to be routed to the UDM Pro, but allow camera and Netflix stuff to peer.

Hows this compare to a pfsense box? I have a HP SFF that i plan on putting pfsense on - but maybe for the right price ill go dream machine.

Kinda crazy they would have released it this way with how prevalent gig Internet is becoming.
Already have 2 Unifi APs.
