It will cost ~$400 to refill all the color&black cartridges, no thanks!
Looks like you can get generic on Amazon for around 70-75, but would need to transfer the chip from the original toner, and a low toner warning will pop up, which can be ignored.
This is $70 cheaper than front page deal for M283FW version which was available at some Costcos a few months ago. The Costco one was 22 pages per minute instead of 16 ppm of this one. This is HP and color laser for under $200 which is kind of amazing. Amazon and other stores have this at $299. I think there is a HP rebate or sale right now but with this deal you do not have to do that paperwork or hope they send you the check.
Pros:
Really heavy but has Free Shipping
HP name means parts will be available for some time.
Color Laser means does not smudge with water/sweat.
Cons:
Color Laser Printers have really expensive cartridges. Check pricing if you print a lot.
Some reviews say people were having problems getting wireless to work. Either be good with wifi networks or prepared to hook in up to a LAN cable.

I have this printer and yes that was originally the case, but in the past few months the generic brands have figured out the chip issue or something because you can buy generics with working chips now. They cost a little more (about $100~ for a full set) but still cheaper than buying HP branded toner.
Just remember to turn off the auto-update on the printer and it should be good to go. Haven't had any issues while using generic toner and the printer has been working out great. Much better option than inkjet for me.

Link to generic toners? And you have this exact same model?? Toner refill is one thing, replacing Chips is another pita.

This is a smoking deal. I literally just bought this same unit from Amazon for $299 2 weeks ago. Even at $299 I thought it was a good deal given its capabilities and readily available 3rd party toners.
Note that this unit does not support Scan to Network Location or Scan to Email. You have to step up to the MFP-283 for those features. It does support Scan to PC.

You can return it to Amazon and get it from Newegg since Amazon will not price match it. I need a color printer too because my HP Color Laser jet died CP2025N. It always has paper jam and the fuser has to replace. I am not replacing the fuser because it will cost $200 north. I might as well get a new color laserjet. I already have the Brother B&W all in one machine so I don't need another all in one again. I am waiting for the Brother 3270CDW to be on sale. Brother printers are alright. I never tried the Brother color LED printer before so I will switch brands for once. I had a Canon B&W all in one the D480 but it keeps saying there is a paper jam but not paper. When I turned on that printer it just stops and says paper jam. That Canon printer I had was in 2005 till 2021 but I got so angry and I rarely use that printer and then it broke and it is rarely used at all. The HP was from 2009-2023 and I always printer to this printer so that's a different story and it breaks. If the Brother 3270CDW drops to $180 I would buy it immediately. The Brother 327CDW sells for $300 and also this printer that I posted sells for $300 also at Newegg.

I think it's too much hassle given that I might end up with a damaged unit. I don't want to deal with NewEgg's CS. These things are heavy, and they ship as-is in their own packaging. Mine came from Amazon with a ripped handle on the box which had me worried it would be damaged. I luckily received a perfect unit. I don't want to chance it. Also Amazon charges a restocking fee for 'good' returns (as they should) which would eat into the savings. I'll chalk up my losses. That being said, others should jump on this, especially if you're still using an Inkjet AiO.
