FWIW, the 9500 may not be the same rears as the one's included in the 990c

EDIT: I looked at the pictures and the rears with the 990c have front-side-top firing drivers. 9500 don't have side firing drivers

Overall the 990c setup has more drivers (11.1.4) compared to 900c+9500 (7.1.2 + 2.0.2 = 9.1.4)

So I already used up my 10% coupon in a separate purchase. The trick here is to find a large ticket item like the S95C 77" and ask the agent for a discount. Since the 10% coupon was not available, the next best coupon they offered was $200 off. They made my cart and wanted me to checkout. Instead, I added the soundbar and removed the TV and the $200 stuck.

Again YMMV.

I've been waiting for this. I was able to finagle my way with the representative to give me a $200 off coupon making it $699.99 before tax and same day best buy pick up.

So I bought the q990b earlier this year. The q990b and q990c are virtually the same but I will say that this system is extremely impressive. Definitely worth the money and the surround sound is AMAZING.

Yes you are right … the specs match exactly. However, last summer I bought the Q900B and Q990B and tried them in a relatively large (22' x 16' x 8') room of ours and extensively tested them for 3 days. Yes the difference between them was subtle yet in blind tests I clearly preferred the 990B. I found the sound to be bigger / deeper on the 990B.

I told the agent I was very interested but on the fence because of price. agent would not give me an extra 10% - they said having EPP/EDU is the best and final price....is there anything else I can say?
