Just googled each of these bats... they are pretty much around the price Rawlings is selling them for. They don't appear to be $280 ANYWHERE on the internet, just FYI.

Here in Dixie League, we are limited to USA bats. I ended up grabbing a 30" drop 5 just in case he has a growth spurt this winter. Maybe I'll put him on a bulking program. He'll be 10 in November, so by spring ball in February of 2024, he should be a beast.

Is that 2021 -3 a good bat for Men's leagues? a $380 bat for $80 sounds like a steal, unless it's a dud lol
I bought that bat for my kid a couple months ago for 70 bucks. He's only taken BP with it, and I've hit it off the tee. I really like the feel and weight distribution. Really good pop (for BBCOR!).
And that being said, our junior high teams are required max drop of 3. It's a really big change for 11 and 12 year olds. But my pip-squeak kid handled the change really well. YMMV. Technique matters!
Our 8th grade 14U program requires a drop 5. My son is average height and he uses a 32".
The problem is that it is a one year bat. For high school he would need a BBCOR. That makes these deals great for anyone that needs them.
Edit: I also noticed that my son found it heavy for the first day but then got used to the drop 5 almost immediately.
Another tip to help, if your son continues to run into heavier bats as he progresses. I used to take a sledgehammer, do a super slow and controlled swing. As slow as possible, choke up if it's too heavy and move down the handle as he gets stronger. 👍

Where did you get it for $70? Is this not a good deal then?

I ended up buying one a year before we needed it. At this price, it is a good deal even for a practice bat.
