Just googled each of these bats... they are pretty much around the price Rawlings is selling them for. They don't appear to be $280 ANYWHERE on the internet, just FYI.

You are right. Keep in mind these are 2022 models so they are closeouts. Saving about $30 - $70 from other retailors.

Same. I found the Velo ACP BBCOR bat for less at Justbats - $69 for the 34" model w/ free shipping. And Closeoutbats has it for $59 + $12.95 shipping on all of the models (w/ free ship on $99).

Even with the $12.95 shipping, it is still LESS than this Rawlings.com "sale." Just an FYI.

U are correct and in fact is down right stupid to use a bat that heavy, even -10 is too heavy. -12 to-13 is ideal , bat speed generates power and good technique according to Ted Williams - he was a pretty good hitter...

What would be the best size for an 8 year old? This spring was my son's first year playing and I bought him a 26 inch and 13 oz bat. He says it feels a little light so I was thinking of going with the 28 inch but don't want it to be too heavy. He's still in coach pitch for one more season so I'd like his next bat to last for at least a couple years.

Ted Williams was a mentor of my kid's travel coach WAAAAY back in the day.

We've always shot for the lightest bats allowed, last year was 13u travel with a -8, but 14u/15u is BBCOR, huge jump in weight. His wood bat for BP came to about -4.5.

Interesting, thought USA was just a little league restriction. 7th/8th in town ball uses BBCOR, so go from little league fields, right to big diamond and from up to -13 to -3.

28-29", -10, depending on how big he is. My 7 year old uses a 30" -8, but he's huge for his age. Occasionally he uses a 29" -10 but he prefers the 30". My 9 year old used a 28 and 29" when he was 8. Just turned 9 and uses a 30" -8 now.
