Also picked up the $100 stand and it's worked just fine. The friction stickers that came with it, and which keep the weights from sliding around when you place them on the stand, are serviceable, but nothing exceptional. I may add some foam for extra grip. For $100, though, it's more than adequate. Note that the stand is "limited" to the 50-lbs set, so likely wouldn't work well for the expandable set. For those, or the ones with the 2.5-lbs inserts, there's a more robust pedestal stand with dedicated housings for the 2.5-lbs cylinders.
All that said, $200-$300 for a durable, dependable, and compact set of dumbbells that more than meets the needs of a basic home gym, the two items are simply fantastic.
