thanks for posting this OP Smilie ... I am wondering if anyone has had any direct experience with these drives though? Are they reliable say to create a boot drive for say Macrium Reflect backup software or for Win 11 install files? Or just for plain old transferring files between PC's?

I have 4 of them and I bought them at around $9 each last year. 2 of them are constantly plugged in to my desktop to store my 3D printing files, no issues so far.

I've found that speed matters more than capacity for general use. Most files I need to transfer would easily fit on a 64GB or smaller, but I get fed up waiting several minutes for things to copy. Even some of the more well known brands make a lot of painfully slow flash drives. I find myself using my portable SSD more and more due to impatience.

Yeah... I had a few 2230 SSDs around and found some small metal usb-c enclosures that just arrived yesterday. Hopefully testing goes well.

I wasn't splitting pennies. I didn't mean to be confusing. I had another window open on another drive for 11.99 for one and confused the two in my post. My bad.

try using the San Disk recovery tool. You get the full version code inside all SanDisk usb packages. One of my 128gb failed and I got about 40gb back. I think for the rest you have to send it out to a recovery specialist.
