I have one just like this and it works great for my MBP. Has Allen screws on the bottom to adjust the tightness. Does what it says

Seller is not the one associated with prime shipping. Ratings are fine and there are reviews from April, but it was enough to put me off from buying.

Id guess most people just put their laptop to sleep and it'll wake with the external keyboard

Is it cheaper to find one slot? I don't need 2 slots.

Both the single and double versions typically run around $20

If it is a mac, as long as it is plugged into a power source, you can use the external keyboard to wake it when the lid is closed. On a windows machine you have to configure a few settings so the laptop doesn't go to sleep when you close the lid and any other additional sleep settings to your preference to determine how often you are willing to take it out to open it and power it on or set it up to just never sleep and then you can leave it in the stand indefinitely.

I like the idea of this, was going to pull the trigger on it, then I remembered I have a 3d printer. Off to fusion 360 I go to draw it up

For windows, you just need to make sure USB mouse or keyboard can wake it up. Once that's set, you just put laptop to sleep when not used. Been doing this for a while and works great. Only once in a blue moon, have to open and start it.
