Found this deal on Zojiroshi. I believe this should be a good one for a popular rice cooker brand.

What on earth would one do with 10 cups of uncooked rice? That is like 7000 calories of rice.

Sometimes we need to cook for a party of two or more family, 10-cup rice cooker is a must-have. 5-cup cooker is too small for this case.

we bought a cuckoo rice cooker recently and it takes 1 hour to cook the white rice. I'm thinking about returning it to purchase this one.

I have had a zojurushi rice cooker for at least 20 years and it still works perfectly - probably paid more than this price for it back then - it's a workhorse and I love it! I don't cook 10 cups of rice at once but there have been many times I have cooked rice along with other ingredients as a one pot meal and appreciated the room. I do cook 5-6 cups of rice at a time! It becomes several different meals over the next few days always ending up as fried rice - if you're thinking about it buying one buy a Zo!

Had the 5 cup one it wasn't that good, returned it to Amazon. Rice quality was the same as my old cuckoo and it didn't keep rice any longer than my old one did.

This is a 10 cup uncooked rice maker. That works out to about 30 cups of rice. 30. cups.

I get that some people have larger families but the 5 cup makes 15 cups of rice! That is plenty for at least 6 people!

I have a 3 cup version of this brand and it also takes like an hour for white and like two hours for brown. If I measure water correctly, instantpot gives me similar results in much less time.

Best rice cooker, bar none. The only con is its non-replaceable battery. Mine became useless after its battery died after many years of almost daily use. I could find no option to change its battery. What a shame. If they made it user serviceable, I am sure I would still be using it today.

I am not sure why, but the Costco Tiger one had water comes out during cooking from the top. I returned it and bought a Zojirushi which has no issue.

Yup, just for it. I had this zojirushi but gave it to my mom as she cooks more than I do. For a casual rice cooker like me, the MIJ Tiger should be enough.

It should be still usable even the battery is dead. The battery is replaceable but you need to use a soldering tool though.

Are there any downsides to cooking like 1 cup of uncooked rice in this bigger unit over cooking the same 1 cup in a smaller unit?
