Wow marriott got cheap. If a $350 room is 60,000 points , than this is about $8.75 in points

Every Marriott I have stayed at have terribly soft pillows. I read somewhere that you can take towels to put inside the pillow case to firm things up. Just wanted to share this tip in case people like firmer pillows like me.

You can have more than 2 Marriott CC's - I have 3 - 2 Amex, 1 Chase. I forgot to cancel the Chase one. Each of them gives me a free night after the 1st year so I get 3. But I only get 40 nights towards Titanium - you already get Platinum with Brilliant.

I was also denied on eligibility for this promo initially but went into my profile for Earning Preferences and oddly was set for miles over points. I changed to earn points instead and shortly after, was able to register for the promo just fine. Still, YMMV.

This is very true. I stay at Marriotts consistently and already have 90 nights this year. I always have to ask for their foam pillows for actual support. Good tip on the towels

At some point the idea was that most loyalty points were worth 1 cent, i.e. companies gave you 1% of your purchase back. But then they started devaluing them. So now many are worth only 0.5 cents. Sad.

I usually use points on rooms - spend for 4 nights get the 5th free. There's a selection for pay with points or $ when you're searching for rooms.

Tried to sign up for this promotion, and was not able to even though my earning preference was set to points. I called them and they said I was eligible. They signed me up for it and said there may be a glitch in the system.

If you're implying Hyatt is less value, you're incorrect.

Hyatt is roughly 2.8¢/point. Marriott is 0.7¢/point.

Bummer, I literally just booked a hotel for October last night. It says I'm not eligible, probably because I already have a booking within the promotional period so they don't want to give me the points.
