That was the first thing I noticed, too.

Then I realized they are quoting it at -10dB. But the -3dB point that we tend to care about looks to be about 50Hz. Blech.

In all seriousness, for subwoofers and speakers specs, they notoriously don't even come close in real measurements. Luckily there's tons of hobbyists who buy these things to measure the actual frequency responses and post them online

this is actually a pretty cool thing, flat subwoofer for a more minimalistic approach. didnt think they had something like this.

This thing must be huge since it's a 12" subwoofer based on the picture. It's a cool concept. I had one many years ago (forgot what brand it was) that wasn't powered, but for 8" sub, it was pretty decent. I wonder if this can fit under a couch, It's like those Infinity powered subwoofers you put under the seat of your car.

I have a whole house audio setup and wanted to add a sub to be placed in the center of the house. Could I connect a Chromecast audio to this thing and set it up in a group speaker setup? I would not need to connect a separate amplifier to this right? Any help would be appreciated

Don't see why not. Pretty much what Sonos does with their sub. Never thought to do that since all my setups are self contained.

CCA to the Line In. Set the crossover appropriately since it's a full range signal. Sub has an Amp built in.

Whoa, this looks great! I unfortunately just bought a more typical 12" sub from Monoprice for my bedroom. It was cheap and sounds nice, but it is humongous. I would have def opted for this.

Super neat that it gets all the way down to 20Hz too. Not many in a small form factor like this seem to get that low.

Specs on here and Monoprice show that it does. I'm just going off of that.

If you have it, please do share what the actual low level response is.

I had the 8" version of this for a couple years in an apartment that I couldn't get terribly loud in. It has a really good clean sound, and was able to fit under the sofa, which is cool.

I had a low profile sub before (Dayton SUB-1000L, https://www.daytonaudio.com/produ...-subwoofer) and while I really liked the form factor, it was not good at what it did.

I generally like Monoprice's stuff…but I wonder if this form factor will ever be able to even approximate what a real sub should sound like.
