Decent? I'm actually thinking about grabbing one of these to put under a bed.

I have one behind a couch in my living room. Small footprint and gives some good bass. Happy with my purchase

this is probably the cheapest subwoofer in the market with a stated low frequency response of 20.

i maybe wrong, but most other subs that go that low are around 3-4 times the price of this unit. im tempted to get this for my pc setup to match my bookshelf speakers (i know it's way way overkill)

im no audiophile but i believe this can be very good for the price/performance you get. if you're an audiophile and have the $$$ to spend, you'll probably snub this deal and look somewhere in the $400 & up price range Smilie

"Frequency response" doesn't equate to any real-world dBA.

These subs are great when paired with TV speakers, computer speakers, or a sound bar that lacks a subwoofer or for a near-field, low volume install. Don't expect miracles.

Yes usually when they can get that low it costs much more

It's rated -10dB at 20Hz. To be apples to apples comparison, you need the -3dB frequency which is probably closer to 30Hz. For the pricepoint, it still seems like a decent deal, but don't expect significant 20Hz output from this.

Doable but probably not worth it. You could just bypass the internal amp and use a car audio amp. It wouldn't be very difficult to just build one the same size and volume for a car audio sub that fits the specs.

Yeah you could.
Either use a car amp and bypass internal amp or use an inverter.

Probably the easiest way would be to buy a 12v to 110v converter. You can possibly grab one for as low as $15. With that you can plug the SW to a wall like outlet. Other than that, you'll need your car stereo to have rca outs so you can send the signal that way.

Edit. I double checked and this also has speaker level terminals, so if your stereo doesn't have rca outs, you can always pass the speaker cables though the subwoofer before actually going to the speakers.

I would recommend this if you just want BASS. I have an SVS sb1000 pro. There is a difference but you could get nearly 4 of these for the same price.

This is a great addition if you're looking to add a second subwoofer, especially if your room layout doesn't allow for the subwoofer to be close by. I have this under my couch and it adds a perfect amount of oomph in movies and music. I did however have to cut a notch in the liner underneath so it would fit, since it's sitting on an area rug lol.

Why bother name dropping a full sized SVS sub thats 4x the cost in a thread about a slim sub?
Not even remotely the same target audience.
