i maybe wrong, but most other subs that go that low are around 3-4 times the price of this unit. im tempted to get this for my pc setup to match my bookshelf speakers (i know it's way way overkill)
im no audiophile but i believe this can be very good for the price/performance you get. if you're an audiophile and have the $$$ to spend, you'll probably snub this deal and look somewhere in the $400 & up price range

These subs are great when paired with TV speakers, computer speakers, or a sound bar that lacks a subwoofer or for a near-field, low volume install. Don't expect miracles.

Either use a car amp and bypass internal amp or use an inverter.
Edit. I double checked and this also has speaker level terminals, so if your stereo doesn't have rca outs, you can always pass the speaker cables though the subwoofer before actually going to the speakers.

Not even remotely the same target audience.
