Having had one of these, I can honestly say, it's not worth it. You'll get two maybe three uses out of it before it's trash. The paint peels immediately. The metal is the cheapest, thinnest steel. It's fine if you want a grill to take to the park once or twice but CVS sells small portable charcoal grills for like 15 bucks and they'll last just as long as this one.
Coals really close are what you'd want for beef steak or tuna steaks. Fatty food would be a trick. With no lid, indirect barbecuing isn't really an option.
It's definitely a very limited purpose grill. Burgers, sausage, kabobs, steaks would be a fine use. Poor choices would be fatty meat like ribs, chicken quarters, etc.
Seems like there's a large fake contingent there - 8% of the reviews are 1 star and constantly point out the same flaws - flimsy materials, small charcoal area resulting in insufficient fuel, not enough airflow. They're accompanied by pictures that illustrate the complaint, versus the 5 star 'this thing is fantastic!' with little to no additional context provided. More pumped up junk it seems.

I think you have a valid point, but I'll add that it's is ludicrous to say it doesn't have enough room for fuel. It would actually be way too much coals if loaded for the types of food that should go on this grill. This is a grill made only for high-heat, fast cooking. There's no real air control and no lid, so it's easy to tell what it's for. There's a video of a guy who didn't know better and loaded it full with coal. It's kind of funny seeing his kabobs burning.
It's just a small stamped steel grill. If you want something like it, it's super hard to argue it isn't worth about $30. But, most people would be far better off with a small charcoal grill with lid and air control.

I have this grill and this price is about $5 less than what I paid for it a year ago. I use it exclusively for skewers because of the rectangular shape. It holds pretty well against rust after sitting outside for a year. One of the main reasons I got this rectangular one rather than the deeper Korean ones at the Asian grocery store is because the grid seems to stay in place after many uses well. I think I'll buy it again in case my current one breaks or I got on a trip and I'm too lazy the clean out my existing one for transport.

The steel and cooking grate screams garbage. But I do know people who would use this once and toss. Worth it for them to grill high heat steaks or brats. Other foods if you flip constantly. This thing will fall apart quickly. $30 you get what you pay for.
i think i'm gonna need some kishu binchotan to make proper yakitori and robatayaki out of this thing. them stuff is more expensive than this grill unfortunately....
I made Kebabs (Koobideh, Joojeh, Chenje, Shishlik ... ) hundreds of times. This is not a good grill for Middle Eastern Kebabs (on a metal skewer). 8 inches is too narrow for most applications. The top and bottom inch are also not as hot as the rest so you will end up with 6 inches which is too little and too limiting. Anything less than 12 is pointless IMHO. I prefer 16 inch wide. This might be useful for east asian style grilling though i.e. small pieces of meat on bamboo skewers.

Thank you so much!
Seems it's so hard to ask for input from most on here 😅.
I purchased it but will cancel the order now. They lost me at flimsy and low airflow.... i've had a couple grills like this (little airflow)... no bueno! Small charcoal area is cool because i wanted to use japanese charcoal for this (if it was even possible at all).
