For you, better to get it done at the dealer.

I typically spend about $25 DIY for full synthetic. It takes me less time to DIY then to drive to the shop and wait.

Well if your vehicle takes ~ 5 qts then with this deal you're paying about $13 for the oil, then probably $7 or 8 for the filter (I buy Purolator from Amazon and for my vehicles they are $8 plus they are eligible for S&S), so all in for consumables it's like $20ish. If you value your time (will basically always be quicker to DIY when you consider driving to a place then waiting), and you have the tools and space, yeah it still makes sense.

Is it still worth to do your own oil change nowadays? I called a dealer near me and it's $100 for an oil change!

For my corvette (10 qts synthetic + good brand filter) it's even more. Doing it myself works out to about $45 + the satisfaction of doing it myself and knowing drain plugs aren't over tightened, etc.

I do go pick up the oil in my Tesla…

I have mixed feelings about dealer. Not sure if you noticed but the dealer only change oil every 10k so, you don't really getting oil change on the 5k. Don't listen to their bull about new car doesn't need less than 10k per oil change. Oil is cheap, your car engine isn't

They never seem to offer the correct weight, where is the 0w-40?

I've been using the Walmart super tech filters for a while with no issues. They have a $4 one and $6 one.
