I also went back to Toyota for wiper blade refills. Theirs last 2-3 years and don't cost much more than the Costco Michelin? wiper blades.

Can't say for certain for all OEMs but I tend to believe that their requirements are a bit higher than Walmart or Costco which buy on price alone.

Just buy silicone (wiper blades) and don't worry about replacing them.

Also this video has a ton of different filters cut apart including Toyota and Honda (Fram), Purolator, etc.

According to him the Toyota filter is made by either Denso or Purolator, and googling seems to agree.

Same here. I remember seeing a youtube video of a guy cutting oil filter brands open and surprisely enough Walmart Supertech was actually decent build and material, and Fram being dead last with cardboard/paper filter. So I've been using Walmart Supertech oil and oil filter for more than several years and so far my truck has over 220,000 miles and still drive it from time to time.
I would also like to say that I preferred DIY maintenance knowing I've done honest work. Cost me about $25 oil + $5 filter + $5 motor flush = $40 w/ tax and about 40 mins. I do all my family oil change. Oh and to dispose it I have leftover empty 35lbs frying oil plastic containers, just pour in the used oil, and bring it to any auto parts store. Not really hard honestly

I wish I could mix and match this. I don't believe any of my vehicles take the same oil. Its kind of aggravating actually.

You can, the price for a box of two is half the price of this deal. I just picked up a box of two in the warehouse for $31.

Early last year, my local independent shop charged me $60 for an oil change. Then, it went up to $90 within 3 months. Since then, I've been doing my own oil changes with this oil from Costco. I've got enough for 4-5 more.

Just 4 months ago, 2 pack was $30.99. They are slowly increasing prices.

synthetic oil shelf life would probably outlast your car + your actual life, if you let it sit there unopened... everyone says 5-7 years shelf life, so somewhere between that + what I said.

on the shelf, 5-7 years is what the manufacturer says. in the engine, that depends on how often you drive and how you go about removing contaminants in the oil, whether it is properly warming up the car to burn off water/fuel in the oil, or filter changes, etc.

you can mix/match oil but the important thing here is the right weight oil for your ambient temp/driving needs. you can go up/down from your factory recommended weights without any major issues... its in the owners manual.

price is still the same in the warehouse, just online is slightly more.

$2 more than buying 2x of the 2-pack in the store. free shipping. up to you if the extra $2 offsets your own time/gas spent driving to a local store or not.

FYI. If you're wondering where to dispose of your used oil besides taking it to a auto parts store. Check if your county has a hazerdous waste facility near you. Some of those places will actually give you a free oil change kit when you recycle your oil there. They will also accept other hazerdous waste such as old coolant.

yeah, didn't want to do a blanket statement on how people store oil. UV/heat is what breaks down the plastic containers...

if this was sold in metal containers then the oil would last indefinitely.
