For you, better to get it done at the dealer.

I typically spend about $25 DIY for full synthetic. It takes me less time to DIY then to drive to the shop and wait.

Well if your vehicle takes ~ 5 qts then with this deal you're paying about $13 for the oil, then probably $7 or 8 for the filter (I buy Purolator from Amazon and for my vehicles they are $8 plus they are eligible for S&S), so all in for consumables it's like $20ish. If you value your time (will basically always be quicker to DIY when you consider driving to a place then waiting), and you have the tools and space, yeah it still makes sense.

Any feedback on if this is a good quality oil and if this is comparable to the popular brands?

Wow better price than Walmart Super Tech jugs. Those used to be this price long ago I believe.

But kind of worried about shipping damage. Doesn't take much for these to break I'm sure. One good drop.

I hate to be that dude but isn't it cheaper to get 2 of the 2 pack of oil in store now for $30.99 each? You would save $1 and wouldn't have to deal with potential shipping issues.

Exactly this. 6 quarts full synthetic and a filter is about $25. Stealership wants around $80 to do it. Takes me 35min in the driveway.

I get to just pour it in and keep my container?
Usually yes. My autozone just lets me go in the back and dump it out into their holding tank for used oil. I have a big red 5 gallon jug I fill up with 2-3 oil changes and then dump it.

Is it still worth to do your own oil change nowadays? I called a dealer near me and it's $100 for an oil change!
It's about $20 for Quaker State full synthetic high mileage oil and an Extraguard filter for me, when I do it myself.

I would HIGHLY recommend getting a Fumoto ball valve to replace the bolt, though. It makes it so much easier - never have to jack up the car or drive it up on anything ever again to change the oil. You just reach under, remove the safety guard, and flip the valve over. The oil drains into your pan, you remove the filter, then put on a new one. Flip the valve over to the closed position, pop the safet clip back on it, and add the new oil. It's a real timesaver.

Mityvac 7201. Insert in dipstick port. 5 minutes in front of Advance Auto(all have recycling bins). Done.
This should be as easy as changing wiper blades. No need in dropping $100 every interval.

I'm using Penzoil full synthetic in my Honda Fit. It takes 3.5Qt to fill it up.

Questions:
1)Would the oil be shelf stable for a while? I do it twice/year
2)Is it ok to switch from Penzoil to Costco?

What do you guys think?

An oil change takes 45 minutes for most vehicles.
