Thanks to everyone who provided suggestions. Reset, force stop, cache clear, nothing worked, with the permanent unlock option not showing up.
What coincidently worked was opening the unlock option with airplane mode on ( and wifi off as well) it the showed the error message sating cannot connect but also showed all of the various options including the permanent unlock option. Which i then clicked after turning on wifi

The A54 is better than this Moto, but cost $50 more. The extra cost worth is subjective for everyone. To be honest, I don't think you can go wrong with either one though.

but yes i believe we both jump on the same deal in Feb. The only thing i am worried about is i don't recall making a phone call at least once during that first 30 days.

makes me wonder, what exactly did those that did not get theirs unlock failed to do?
best answer is probably "fully" registered on the Metro network to start the 6m clock.

How does the 2023 Stylus compare to the Stylus 2022 or the OnePlus N30? I had a Samsung S20 FE before the Moto and the Samsung was fantastic.
