This whole thread is about MGS and the guy I responded to literally said "My Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 unlocked automagically today (day #180) without my having to do anything.". You brought up iPhones and Android out of the blue, not me.
ur post hoverer was abt what typically happens about UL automatically without interreference.
then u said that happens typically when u have active service.
u then went on to inquire if that was the case
my post was to refute that claim.
that UL happens regardless of active v inactive.
regardless of phone.(which is when the other android & iphones were introduced)
in fact 99.9999% of the folks here do not pay after the 1st month.

but i see ...perhaps what u meant is ..it will automatically UL if u have active service
is that correct?

on day 180 without me doing anything! I.e., I did not "...have to go into settings
and manually request an unlock." In fact, I've never even visited the Device Unlock
menu on this phone! Nor did I have to reboot the phone to unlock it.
BTW, this wasn't the first MGS that unlocked on day 180 after sitting unused in my
desk drawer for five months. But, it was the first MGS that unlocked without me
doing anything! Perhaps it unlocked automagically because it percolated on wifi
for five days prior to day 180? I have another MGS 2023 that's now occupying my
desk drawer purgatory. I'll give it five days of wifi-ness prior to day 180, and
report back in 5 months if it (or the Samsung A9+ 5G) automagically ascends
to an unlocked state on day 180.

at about 1 AM on the 180th day, it already showed unlocked. I never visited the
"Device Unlock" menu, and I never requested an unlock.
