If I have an existing wireless account, am I eligible? Or does this need to be a brand new wireless account sign-up?
I was setting up fiber for my parents and planned on putting it on my ATT account (I already have both wireless and fiber). I didn't go through with it but I had asked two representatives (different occasions) if I'm still eligible with an existing wireless and existing fiber account. They said yes. As long as you have a qualifying wireless plan and you add a new fiber connection (more specifically, a new address) to your account, you will qualify. So, if I had gone through with it, I would've had 1 wireless and 2 fiber accounts with 1 of those fiber account receiving the discount.

On a side note, I've been a long time ATT wireless user and have had their fiber since it was installed in my neighborhood (been about a year), I had called to see if I could have this discount even with both existing wireless and fiber. The short answer was no, but because of my long time standing with ATT, the rep gave me a permanent $20 off (bringing down my 1Gb service from $80 to $60) as a long time customer appreciation. So, even if I were to cancel my wireless, the way my discount is added to the system, I won't lose that $20 discount. Or at least that's what a different rep told me. It may be worth the time to contact ATT and still ask for the discount. They may give you the same permanent discount to match this promotion. I had done this about two billing cycles ago. Good luck

*faint* Cox is overcharging compared to this. I also heard there's no data cap with AT&T or a super-large one compared to Cox.

I wish AT&T would blow fiber lines through my neighborhood, but Cox seems to use their might with the city to prevent growth by claiming "wE DoN't WanT to TeAr uP the StreEts." I digress. Enjoy this if your area has it!

*envious looks*
i was in the same boat… cox was strong arming everyone where i live…

then frontier (yes the horrible frontier) blew out full fiber in our neighborhood and i havent looked back sense..

even the fiber from frontier is so reliable that u will barely have to put up with their horrible customer service

It'll be easy if your spouse has a different last name. With the same name, they may consider you being in the same family/household. I swap back and forth btwn my wife and me, or Spectrum and AT&T.
Tell them your in a process of divorce If they ask 🤷🏻

Crazy statement: we signed up in July with a $250 bonus and canceled after a month because it was impossible to get a piHole working with their mandated hardware.

We HATED Verizon for a month, but got a free Xbox Series S for switching.

We switched back a week ago and got the $100 bonus again.

YMMV, but Internet has been very lucrative the last 3 months.

I want this deal, but I still have a 6-month contract that signed with Xfinity. Is there any way to break a contract and join AT&T?
A rep told me they will cover up to $480 in early termination fees from your current provider. I've just signed the deal with ATT yesterday and the rep was able to toss in a free amazon welcome package on top of the current rewards.

ATT prepaid counts as having wireless connection ?
Quote from jincopunk :
This is my question as well but I am doubtful because they seem to segment pretty hard between prepaid and postpaid.
No -- per the terms, the $20 wireless discount requires a new subscription to AT&T Fiber and that you "have or subscribe to an eligible AT&T postpaid wireless plan" as well.

Curious what postpaid plans are eligible (I have an old, grandfathered Connected Car Unlimited postpaid account that almost certainly doesn't qualify, but would jump all over this if it does).

I have had ATT Gigabit for several years and am still paying the same $60.00 a month. I don't have to call every few years and beg them not to increase the amount like with Xfinity. Reliability has been excellent as well.

Part way through, I see this message:

" Set up your AT&T gateway and connect all your devices to Wi-Fi (To ensure the best experience, use the AT&T gateway—which is included at no extra charge.)"

Is there any reasons to not use their device and go buy one? I'm so used to owning my own modem to avoid monthly "device fees", so it feels weird that they're just offering it for no charge.

planning to do same. do we need to return equipment or can keep same one? given that att equipment usually doesn't work out of the box (technician had to come).
