Is it the fastest production sedan under $100k from the Factory? Possibly if you don't count the Demon 170 which is a coupe.
Also what you classify as fast isn't the same thing as I do. 0-60 doesn't mean fast to me, it's quick. Quick to get up to speed. Fast is something that can do a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, or top speed. I don't disagree that instant power is great, I was just pointing out the stupidness of saying it was "the fastest car ever made." I've got an Audi S4 that gets 3.2 0-60's with just a simple OTS tune, they just don't come that way from the factory.

She then becomes enamored by the Model S, so she sells the C-300 and pays ballpark 8k to get one. This was right before the previous price decrease, which was only a few months ago. She hates it. Cool technology, no gas, but she misses her Mercedes deeply (regardless of the price cut she barely missed).
Moral of the story: if you're interested in a Tesla, be sure to test drive it first and understand what the tradeoffs are. Additionally, wait as long as humanly possible to get it, because a huge price decrease can very well just be around the corner.
I'd personally recommend not getting one at all, though.

Let's not get into the argument that folks making over 300k don't need it. Plenty of people making good money are cheap and looking for better deals.

Just a data point on the current pricing of perf sedans, the 2023 bmw m5 starts out higher than 90k.

There are a lot of electrical car haters out there. The technology with motors for electric cars is superior to ICE and we just started producing them. No maintenance, low center of gravity and weight distribution, instant power its hard to beat. I have Tesla Solar at my house and charge my M3P purely on solar. The car is insanely efficient, I can slam the pedal over and over again and barley drains the battery. I can't say the same for my gas guzzling M model BMW. My point was show me a factory sedan that is under $100K that has the performance the Model S plaid does.
