It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

I was looking at a 2020 MX for about 60k. Makes no sense now.
I wonder how quickly the used market will drop.

Less than a year? The Plaid has been out for over two years already. It took about 18 months for it to hit it's first drastic price cut, before a 6kish price increase.
Alot of people didn't get it right away due to inventory issues. Now nobody wants it. LMAOLMAO

Anyone know why Tesla doesn't give the pass through IRA $7500 credit on lease?

Let's not get into the argument that folks making over 300k don't need it. Plenty of people making good money are cheap and looking for better deals.
What do you mean by "pass through IRA $7,500"? I thought it's just a regular credit?

More like slick! At least for people looking to buy one of the high end Tesla models. But yes I understand it's upsetting for those who already did.

Look at the Model 3, the price came down to half of what it originally was. Upsetting for the people who bought early but a steal for people in the market later.

Hey I am salty as well for buying a Model Y LR in 2020. With the fed rebate and NJ state rebate, I still paid a couple of thousand more before then it is now with both rebates.

Get them down to $20-25k and maybe the working-class people can afford them. Otherwise electric cars will always be for the rich. I don't understand how people afford these $70k+ cars...the car payment would be as much as my rent.
Pretty sure thats the goal with the "model 2" that is supposed to come out in 2026 or so...

know that you are buying tesla for the tech and not build quality. Brother had a model x and sold it within 1 year at the height of the pandemic due to various issues such as wipers not working in the rain, passenger window not closing all the way, hood release wouldn't latch on etc etc

I stand corrected and didn't know it was a electric car also.
What is the next closest ICE sedan under $100K

Now you're categorizing.
Is it the fastest car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production sedan under $100k from the Factory? Possibly if you don't count the Demon 170 which is a coupe.

Also what you classify as fast isn't the same thing as I do. 0-60 doesn't mean fast to me, it's quick. Quick to get up to speed. Fast is something that can do a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, or top speed. I don't disagree that instant power is great, I was just pointing out the stupidness of saying it was "the fastest car ever made." I've got an Audi S4 that gets 3.2 0-60's with just a simple OTS tune, they just don't come that way from the factory.
You're just being ridiculous, the plaid has a sub 2s 0-60 and a sub 9 1/4mi, that is the quickest/fastest production car ever made. Nobody cares about the car you built in your garage or what an S4 with a tune can do. I don't even like tesla but I'm going to knock their build quality, phantom breaking, ownership, etc. not the speed.

Ignorance. The current Model 3 starts at $37k discounted and qualifies for $7500 federal EV rebate and in most states $3-3.5k state EV rebate. That's $26k right there. Stop making excuses for being lowly educated and a poor paying job.
I have a master's and make decent salary, actually. Poorly thought-out insults will get you nowhere, bud.
