It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990

Ill add this to really stir the pot.

This intensive battery manufacturing means that building a new EV can produce around 80% more emissions than building a comparable gas-powered car.-Massachusetts Institute of Technology
you're just front loading the CO2 emissions so get it all over with quicker and then over the life of the car you end up with less CO2 than an ICE.

And within months of actual use the electric cars total emissions including the build-cost is already lower than the gas car, and continues to widen that gap year after year of use.

So that's a pretty....misleading....talking point you've got there.
And producing those batteries contain finite resources....

I've been trying to find a chart with all these price cuts (that's current) but one thing's for sure - man it would suck to have bought one of these in roughly the past year or so - not only are you dealing with the overall car market coming back to reality, but Tesla's massive price cuts probably made SO many people under water or nearly so.

EDIT - here's some data [google.com].

Where are all the people that bought Teslas as investments?
It sucks worse for the flippers on FB Marketplace and Craigslist. I saw tons of people selling Model 3s, Ys, Rivians, etc with like 50 miles on them at like 10-15k premium until the price cuts. Not sure if they lost their shirts but it definitely didn't work out for them even with the 7,500 rebate.

Is that why the Model Y is on pace to be the best selling vehicle, of any kind, this year?
That's one vehicle. Their overall market share is dropping and will continue to drop as more EV options emerge.

Does fsd transfer? I haven't been in the loop. Own a 2017 S with fsd and might want the x now. I've been holding out for the lucid gravity though.
Same, curious how is it going to look and pricing. I personally prefer the Lucid design.

It sounds like a good deal, but I find it bizarre that it's posted here in poor people internet land.
From my observations, Slickdeals really gained traction in the bay area about two decades ago and a lot of folks here have F-U money (1% folks).

Maybe I could've been part of that 1% group, but I spent all my money via stupid purchases on SD. But I got a deal!

No, they are not. A simple google search will show you're wrong, try it.
Did your simple google search also bring up that they add a 1-foot roll out distance to pad that 1.9 0-60 time? Take your own advice.

$90k for the fastest car ever made? That's a great price. I think this is the cheapest their top performance model had ever been
Maybe the quickest, but not the fastest.....big difference. Point noted though...its a grea deal for a helluva car.

Get them down to $20-25k and maybe the working-class people can afford them. Otherwise electric cars will always be for the rich. I don't understand how people afford these $70k+ cars...the car payment would be as much as my rent.
After rebate, gas, and maintenance, EVs and Hybrids are the cheapest things you can buy. See kbb comparison.

But yeah, spending $70k either means you're a car junkie, or you're making around $200k and live in a $1M house.

20K price drop over night, damn. That will kill their margins, but they don't sell many of these to begin with anyway. I would have considered the S or X at this price, but already have a Taycan CT on order. Good time to be in the market for an electric car.

I guess slickdeals is a kind of game. But practically speaking it doesn't make any sense to think about saving $20 when you have $millions.

If you're making, i don't know, $200k, then your time is worth $100/hr, and it would be hard to save that much clicking on stuff everyday.
