i sold mine because i moved to NY and didnt need a car
otherwise theres no EV that has superchargers, i also cant envision paying super high gas prices ever again
A 150mile-ish range ev, like my current vehicle, satisfies 99% of the driving my family needs. I get that doesn't work for all, but if many were being realistic and honest about what they need, that is more than enough driving distance for a very large number of people.
Probably the only way we will see $25-30k euv's that are decent is if that battery pack gets smaller, and that would be a very good thing for people who are interested, but currently priced out.
60kwh+ battery packs are simply unrealistic for most use cases, and unless the tech can find cheaper and more robust minerals than the current lithium, etc. they are only going to get more expensive.
Ev'a are not going to save the planet, and honestly, probably do more harm than good currently. But they are sporty/fun to drive, low maintence and super convenient. A lot of neat tech in there.
Teslas are ridiculous in both good and bad ways. I get the appeal, but I'll never be interested in them as I think they are ugly, cumbersome, and most importantly, a bad value proposition.
With that said, my next vehicle will probably be a hybrid, but it all comes down to cost and what we need vs what is available. My Ioniq was a once in a lifetime deal, but who knows, maybe the gov will go full retard again and offer up some more ridiculous subsidies. 🙄😅
Who doesn't enjoy watching their asset magically depreciate 20-30% in a single day. Must feel really good.

Since most upgrades for a tesla are software downloads, I think they should be giving free upgrades to those that got screwed the past few years. The car is already capable, and they hold the features hostage.
Now, before I get hate bc "if prices went up, you'd be estatic" comments. My biggest pet peeve is the exponential depreciation. All new vehicles have a depreciation value. But when tesla drops the price $10k+ overnight, that previously bought vehicle is worth considerable less. Imagine taking delivery of a model X last week and having it totaled today. Insurance is gonna bend you over and you'll be severely underwater on that loan

Please note:
* Tesla has revamped things so you cannot take a vehicle from one State and try to have it delivered to another (registration) for that custom build
* Certain States and locations offer discounts on EVs, like NJ which doesn't charge sales tax.
* There are taxable benefits for business owners, along with deductions for vehicles under certain price points ($80K) but check w/ the professionals on this one if you qualify

For those interested, Lyft driver gave conflicting information - love the car, had to replace the battery, and had to get various repairs on his car 'many' times (his word). Which it contradicts his comment of minimal issues from an earlier point in our chitchat.
but as far as driving goes? as side of 2 reboots (when center console freeze). no issues what so ever. 7k miles so far.
but the biggest selling to me, is the auto pilot, even the free one is light years ahead of my other top of line Toyota that was bought just 2 year before... like a smart phone vs a abacus level of difference. i use it whenever i am on high ways.
